HDMI inputs/output
The Upstage has 2 HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output. We recommend you set up the HDMI inputs as follows:
1. Connect your devices (i.e. DVD/Blu-ray player, games console, set top box or media player) to HDMI inputs 1 (L) and 2 (M)
2. Connect the HDMI out (N) from the Upstage to a HDMI input on your TV
If your TV has support for ARC (Audio Return Channel), you could set up HDMI as follows:
1. Connect your devices (i.e. DVD/Blu-ray player, games console, set top box or media player) to the HDMI inputs on your TV
2. Connect the HDMI out (N) from the Upstage to the HDMI ARC port on your TV
Note: If you are using ARC, please make sure the TV is set to output audio over ARC. Also, most HDMI devices (i.e. DVD/Blu-ray player, games console,
set top box or media player) will be set to output audio over HDMI by default. If you are not getting any sound, make sure the device is set to output
audio over HDMI.
To activate the HDMI inputs and output (including ARC), press the HDMI 1 (14) or HDMI 2 (15) button on the remote or cycle through the inputs until
modes HDMI 1 or HDMI 2 activate by pressing the input button (B) on the Upstage.
IMPORTANT: If the soundbar is not wall mounted, you will need to use the supplied 90° HDMI adaptors.
Pairing a Bluetooth device
With the Upstage powered on:
1. Press the Bluetooth button (11) on the remote or cycle through the inputs until Bluetooth mode activates by pressing the Input button (B) on the Upstage
2. Wait for the Bluetooth LED (E) to ash blue quickly, indicating it is in pairing mode
3. Using the controls on your Bluetooth device, select the ‘KSUPSTAGE’ in your Bluetooth settings to pair
Note: If your device requests a password, enter ‘0000’.
Note: Refer to your device’s user manual for instructions on pairing and connecting Bluetooth devices.
4. When connected, the LED indicator (E) will turn solid blue
5. The next time the Upstage is put into Bluetooth mode, it will automatically search for and attempt to connect to the last paired device
Note: If your device is not connecting automatically, it’s because it is not the last paired device. Simply delete ‘KSUPSTAGE’ from the list of
Bluetooth devices on your device and re-pair.
Re-pairing or pairing new devices
1. Make sure the Bluetooth is turned off on any previously paired devices
2. Follow ‘Pairing a Bluetooth device’ instructions from step 1
Playing audio via Bluetooth
1. Follow the instructions in the ‘Pairing a Bluetooth device’ section
2. Use the controls on your device to select content
3. Audio played through the connected Bluetooth device will now be heard through the speaker
4. To play or pause the selected track, use the controls on your device
5. To skip to the next track, use the controls on your device
6. The volume can be adjusted on both your device and the Upstage. Press the Volume– (C/6) or Volume+ (D/7) to decrease or
increase the volume respectively
Note for using Bluetooth
Your device will have an internal amplier and if it is playing digital les like MP3s it will also have an integrated DAC (Digital Audio Converter). If you
turn the volume up to 100%, your device will be sending a distorted signal. To avoid this, and to get the best quality from the speaker, we recommend
that you do not run your device any higher than 95% volume. Some devices output higher than others, so you may need to reduce the volume if you
experience distortion.
Wall mounting the soundbar
To avoid the risk of personal injury and damage to the unit, installation should only be carried out by qualied or competent persons.
Note: For best results, the soundbar should be installed at least 10 cm (4 inches) below your television.
Please note that due to the weight of the soundbar, we only recommend wall mounting onto solid brick/concrete walls and stud walls only if you are
able to locate and x each of the 2 mounting points into the actual studs.
1. You will need 2 x suitable screws and 2 x rawl plugs
2. Using a tape measure, mark 2 dots on the wall 600 mm apart ensuring they are level with a spirit level
3. Drill into the marked dots using a suitably sized drill bit
4. Insert the rawl plugs into the drilled holes
5. Screw the 2 screws into the rawl plugs leaving at least 15 mm of the screw protruding from the wall
6. Place the soundbar onto the screw heads ensuring it is sitting properly on the screws
