Oldbatteriesloosetheirabilitytostoreandreleasepowerduetoincreasedinternalresistance.Inthisprocedure,batteries
aretestedunderloadusingadigitalvoltmetertocheckbatterychargelevelatthechargerconnector.Thechargerconnector
islocatedontheremote.Whenvoltageattheoutputdrops1.0voltsunderload(2.0voltsforapair),replacethebatteries.
Readtheseinstructionscarefullyandthemanufacturersinstructionsonthedigitalvoltmeterbeforeproceeding.

9.Carefullygiveforwardcommand,tryingtodrivethe
mobilitydevicethroughthestationaryobject.Theload
shoulddrawbetween30ampsto40ampsfromthe
batteriesfor0.3seconds.
Performingthisstepputsaheavyloadon
thebatteriesastheytrytopushthroughthe
stationaryobject.Ifthewheelsspin,havetwo
individuals(oneoneacharm)applyasmuch
downwardpressureaspossibleonthearmsof
themobilitydevice.
10.Readmeterwhilemotorsarestrainingtodetermine
voltageunderload.
Ifthevoltagedropsmorethan2.0voltsfrom
apairoffullychargedbatteriesduringthe0.3
seconds,theyshouldbereplacedregardlessof
theunloadedvoltages.
