Connecting to computer
eSATA connection
Before connecting the Sapphire Blu-ray/DVD writer to a computer using
eSATA, check to make sure the computer’s eSATA port supports hot
swapping. If the eSATA port does not support hot swapping, connecting or
disconnecting the Blu-ray/DVD writer or turning the device on and off while
the computer is running may cause the computer to crash.
Once the computer completed detecting the device, an optical drive icon
will appear in MY COMPUTER under Windows OS. The Blue-ray/DVD writer
behaves like an internal optical drive and can be used for booting a
computer with bootable CD or DVD disc.
USB connection
Connect the Sapphire Blu-ray/DVD writer to the USB port of the computer
using the included USB 3.0 cable. Power on the device and in a few moment
an optical drive icon will appear in My COMPUTER under Windows OS.
There is no driver required in either eSATA or USB connection.
