Toro 117–3600 is a convenient Chute Gate Kit that is compatible with GrandStand™ Mowers and Z Master® G3 Mowers. It includes a side discharge chute with a gate that allows you to control the direction of grass clippings. You can choose to have the clippings discharged to the side, deflected at a 45-degree angle, or completely stopped. The kit also comes with a handle assembly that makes it easy to operate the gate. Additionally, it includes all the necessary hardware for installation, such as bolts, locknuts, spacers, springs, and cable ties.

2.Turnofftheengine,removethekey,andwaitforall

movingpartstostopbeforeleavingtheoperating

position.

3.Removethelocknut,bolt,springandspacerholding

thedeectortothepivotbrackets(Figure1).

thelawnmowertothrowobjectsinthe

operator’sorbystander’sdirectionandresult

inseriousinjury.Also,contactwiththeblade

couldoccur.

•Neveroperatethelawnmowerunlessyou

installacoverplate,amulchplate,oragrass

chuteandcatcher.

•Makesurethegrassdeectorisinthedown

position.

Note:Ensurethegrassdeectorisinstalledinthe

lowerholesinthemowerdeckbrackets.

1.Placethenewspacerandspringontograssdeector.

Placeoneendofspringbehinddeckedge.

Note:Makesuretheendofthespringisinstalled

behindthedeckedgebeforeinstallingtheboltas

showninFigure2.

2.Installboltandnutinthelowerhole.Placetheend

ofthespringaroundthegrassdeector(Figure2).

3.Tightenthenutuntiltheendoftheboltisushwith

theendofthenut.Donotovertighten.

Important:Thegrassdeectormustbeableto

lowerdownintoposition.Liftthedeectorup

totestthatitlowersintothefulldownposition.

opening.Grassandobjectsmaybethrownin

abystander’sdirectionandresultinserious

injury.

•Beawareofthemowerdischargedirection

anddonotpointitatanyone.

•Removeobstaclessuchasrocks,treelimbs,

etc.fromthemowingarea.

•Neverputyourhandsorfeetunderthe

mowerordischargearea.

•Nevertrytoclearthedischargeareaor

mowerbladesunlesstheengineisoffand

thekeyisremoved.

Usethechutegatetotemporarilystopordeectgrass

clippingsawayfromsidewalks,parkinglots,patios,or

anywhereyoudonotwantgrassclippingstoland.The

chutegatehas3positions:open,45degreeangle,and

closed.

•Rotatethechutegatehandletotheopenpositionto

allowgrassclippingstodischarge(FigureFigure9).
