Cardell Touch Software Upgrade [002-1886-xx]
Equipment Alert
Do not touch, move or restart monitor during software upgrade (step E) until “SYSTEM UPDATE
SUCCESSFUL, PLEASE RESTART” appears. Failure to adhere to instructions may result in monitor
failure.
Step 1: Upload Software.
A) Firmly insert thumb drive into USB Port on rear of monitor.
B) Press the “NEXT” Touch Screen Quick Access button.
C) Press the “MAIN MENU” Touch Screen Quick Access button.
D) Scroll down and press “MAINTENANCE”. Select “2016” and press “Enter” on the keypad.
E) Scroll to last page and select “SOFTWARE UPGRADE”. (Upgrade could take 5 minutes.)
F) Do not remove thumb drive. Restart monitor and second part of software upgrade will install.
G) Turn off monitor, remove thumb drive, then turn on monitor.

When performing a software upgrade ALL patient trend and historical data will be deleted, ALL user
dened alarm settings will be deleted, and ALL user dened parameter settings will be deleted.

Step 2: Perform Screen Adjust.
Note: At this point the touch functions of the monitor will be misaligned. The screen will need recalibration. Use the blue knob to navigate through menu selections.
A) Navigate to the “NEXT” Touch Screen Quick Access button and push in knob to select.
B) Navigate to the “MAIN MENU” Touch Screen Quick Access button and push in knob to select.
C) Navigate to the last page of the menu and push in knob to select “MAINTENANCE”.
D) Select “5188” and “Enter” by pushing knob.
E) Scroll down and select “SCREEN ADJUST”.
F) A target will appear in the top left corner of the monitor screen. Using the stylus from the rear of the monitor, firmly press on each of the five sequential targets.

Step 3: CO2 or Multigas parameter setup.
A) Press the “MAIN MENU” Touch Screen Quick Access button.
B) Scroll down and press “MAINTENANCE”.
C) Select “2016” and press “Enter” on the keypad.
D) Scroll down and press “COM_C MOD LOCK” and select “CO2”
for CO2 modules or “AG” for Multigas modules.
E) Press OK and press power button to turn off monitor.
F) Press power button to turn on monitor.

Step 4: IBP parameter setup.
(For 8013-003 and 8013-004 IBP models only)
A) Press the “MAIN MENU” Touch Screen Quick Access button.
B) Scroll down and press “MAINTENANCE”.
C) Select “2016” and press “Enter” on the keypad.
D) Scroll down and press “COM_5 MOD LOCK” and select “IBP”.
E) Press OK and press power button to turn off monitor.
F) Press power button to turn on monitor.

Step 5: Perform Factory Default.
A) Press the “NEXT” Touch Screen Quick Access button.
B) Press the “MAIN MENU” Touch Screen Quick Access button.
C) Scroll down and press “MAINTENANCE”.
D) Select “5188” and press “Enter” on the keypad.
E) Scroll down and press “FACTORY DEFAULT”.
F) Select “YES” to return to the default configuration.
Note: If you monitor CO2, IBP, or Multigas you will need to turn the specific item
“on” in the Main Menu/Monitor Setup/Module Setup menu. See Cardell Touch
User Guide for CO2, IBP, and Multigas setup.
