The Smoove Uno io is a wall mounted control with an integrated io receiver that transforms wired

motorized equipment (roller shutters, vertical blinds, patio awnings, exterior venetian blinds, interior

venetian blinds, curtains, interior blinds) into “ io-compatible” equipment.

With the Smoove Uno io, your wired motorized equipment can be managed with radio controls of io-

homecontrol® range. You can enjoy the beneﬁts of the io-homecontrol® technology.

1. INTRODUCTION

The Smoove Uno io is a motor controller device with integrated remote receiver radio technology

io-homecontrol®.

Using this technology most roller shutters, awnings, external Venetian blinds with the standard 230V

motor can be re-equipped and controlled via radio: the Smoove Uno io enables carrying out the

commands for opening, closing, stopping and for the aligning of slats (with external Venetian blinds)

directly on the device.

In addition, wired motors using Smoove Uno io over a io-homecontrol® radio transmitter or over

Somfy io-homecontrol® products (e.g. TaHoma®, Connexoon®) can also be controlled centrally.

1.1. SmooveUnoio

The following types of operation can be carried out using the Smoove Uno io:

• Single operation: one SmooveUnoio is controlled by one io-homecontrol® operating unit

• Multiple operation: one SmooveUnoio is controlled by several io-homecontrol® operating units.

• Group operation: one io-homecontrol® operating unit controls several SmooveUnoio.

• A Smoove Uno io can be controlled by one io-homecontrol® operating unit or by io-home-

control® automatic controlling.

1.2. What is io-homecontrol®?

The Smoove Uno io is based on the progressively developed and safe io-homecontrol® radio

technology with a universal communications protocol which is compatible with other house-

technology products from reputable manufacturers. io-homecontrol® makes possible the

communication between all comfort and security devices and to control them over one single

operating unit.

Through ﬂexibility and excellent compatibility the io-homecontrol® system can adapt to new

requirements. To begin with, the automatic operating of roller shutters and the main door, and then

later on, the integration of awnings, yard and garden gates, and the lighting of the garden – can be

done all with io-homecontrol®.

Even when the installation is done at diﬀerent times, these interior ﬁttings are compatible with the

existing system thanks to io-homecontrol®.

2. COMPATIBILITY

2.1. Compatibility: Motors

The Smoove Uno io is connected to a 4-wired motor 230 V AC 50/60 Hz for roller shutters, awnings,

external Venetian blinds, screens and windows with mechanical end positions.

2.2. Compatibility: External Venetian blinds

All classic external Venetian blinds are compatible:

• which are ﬁtted with visible guiding cords for slat tilting,

• which can be moved with the following slats behaviour:

- Type 0-90°: the external Venetian blinds move with outwardly directed closed slats down

and horizontal slats up.

- Type -90°/+90° (or 0-180°): the external Venetian blinds move with outwardly directed

closed slats down and with inwardly directed closed slats up.

All other external Venetian blinds applications on the market are incompatible.

This applies also for external Venetian blinds with mechanical working positions: when moving down,

the slats are tilted at a deﬁned angle. This additional setting of the tilted angle is carried out by the

manufacturer and is independent from the motor or Smoove Uno io.

With motors for external Venetian blinds with electronic end positions, it is recommended to set the

start delay time with help of the QuickCopy setting tool and the accompanying PC soware.

3. ADDITIONAL SETTINGS

3.1. Enter Running time and Tilting time using QuickCopy soware

1. Plug in the SmooveUNOio to the QuickCopy device.

2. Open the QuickCopy PC soware “SofyUI_r158“ (See QuickCopy operating instructions): in the ﬁeld

“Plugged in device“ the message “SmooveUNOio” now appears.

3. Click on this ﬁeld: the following settings window now appears:

4. Under “Tilting time“ enter the corresponding tilting time: the value is transferred to the device.

3.2. Enter the start delay with electronic motors using the QuickCopy

soware

With electronic motors there can be time delay when starting up. This delay however, can be

compensated via the QuickCopy soware:

1. Plug in the SmooveUNOio to the QuickCopy device.

2. Open the QuickCopy PC soware “SofyUI_r158“ (See the QuickCopy operating instructions): in the

ﬁeld “Plugged in device“ the message now appears “SmooveUNOio“.

3. Click on this ﬁeld: the following settings window appears:

4. Under "Start delay" enter the corresponding start delay. The value is transferred to the device.

4. TIPS AND NOTES

Observations Possible causes Solutions

When pressing the operating

buttons on Smoove Uno io, the

motor does not react.

The wiring is faulty.

Check the wiring of the

Smoove Uno io and when faulty,

change it.

The over heating protection of the

motor is activated.

Wait until the motor has cooled.

The turning direction of the

motor does not match with

the turning direction of the sun

protection product.

The wiring is faulty.

Check the wiring of the

Smoove Uno io and when faulty,

change it.

I have the feeling that the

positioning between both end

positions is not precise.

The setting of the running path is not

correct.

Set the running path new again.

The external Venetian blind is

motorised with an electronic motor.

Using the separately available setting

tool QuickCopy, set the motor-

speciﬁc move-to time.

When pressing the operating

buttons on the Smoove Uno io,

the slats of the external

Venetian blinds cannot be

properly positioned.

Smoove Uno io is not set in the

external Venetian blinds mode.

Set the DIP switch on the

Smoove Uno io to external Venetian

blinds, reset the device and learn-in

newly the running and tilting times.

The maximum running and tilting

times on the Smoove Uno io is set

incorrectly.

Make the setting.

The external Venetian blind is

motorised with an electronic motor.

Using the separately available setting

tool QuickCopy, set the motor-

speciﬁc move-to time.

The sun protection product

stops too early or too late.

The end positions on the motor are

not properly set.

Set the end positions on the motor

new and aer this learn- in the

running times of the Smoove Uno io.

The “my“- position does not

function.

The “my“- position is deleted. Set the “my“- position.

The “my“- position cannot be

repeated.

The maximum tilting area is not set

correctly.

Set the maximum tilting area (tilting

time) and then set the “my - position

new again.

Problem caused by the guide cord of

the external Venetian blinds.

No solution over the setting of the

Smoove Uno io. Call up the “my“-

position from the lower end position.

button on one of the

Smoove Uno io learned-in

transmitters, the motor does

not react.

The battery of the Somfy io operating

unit is weak.

Check whether the battery is weak

and if so, change it.

The operating unit is not compatible.

Check compatibility and the operating

unit and when required change them.

The used Somfy io operating unit is

not saved in the motor.

Use a learned-in operating unit or

read-in the operating unit.

I have a wind monitor and the

external Venetian blinds or

awning always make a move,

i.e. every hour to the upper end

position.

The wind sensor is linked / set: either

the sensor is faulty or the sensor is

outside its range.

Check the sensor.

The battery of the Somfy io wind

sensor is weak.

Check whether the battery is weak

and if so, change it.

The external Venetian blind

does not move to the upper end

position in a strong wind even

though there is a wind monitor.

The wind sensor is not linked / set.
