Updating Firmware
1. INTRODUCTION
Updating the firmware of Unity system requires a Local Area Network connection with a shared
internet connection. Always check for firmware updates prior to configuring a system for the first
time to make sure you are running the latest firmware version.
2. HOW TO STEP-BY-STEP
STEP 1: Using the left or right arrow button on the LCD or TVDI remote,
navigate the applications icon menu until the “Setup” icon is in the middle
of the display and press the “talk/select” button.
STEP 2: Use the down arrow button to select “System” and press
“talk/select” to enter the “Setup / System” menu
STEP 3: Press hot-key #2 on an LCD or the Green button on the
TVDI remote to “Update” the system firm ware version.
STEP 4: A pop up will appear. Press hot-key #3 on an LCD or the
YELLOW button on the TVDI remote to select “Yes” to start the update.
3. SPECIAL NOTES
A pop up will appear followed by the
“UPDATING” screen to communicate the
status of the update. This can take up to 20
minutes to complete.
Once the update is complete the system will
reboot itself.

Reserved DHCP
1. INTRODUCTION
To ensure the Unity module always has the same IP address it is recommended that you set up
the local router’s reserved DHCP settings.
2. HOW TO STEP-BY-STEP
STEP 1: Open a web-browser on a PC or Mac connected to the network
and type in the IP address of the router. Legrand routers default
192.168.40.254
STEP 2: in the pop up, enter the username and password for
the router settings menu. Legrand routers default
admin/admin.
STEP 3: Open the LAN/DHCP Client List menu..
STEP 4: Click the checkbox under “Static” for the IP
addresses or MAC addresses of the Unity Module. All
Legrand devices have a MAC address starting with
00:26:EC:xx:xx.
STEP 5: Click “OK” to save the changes and restart the
router.

Accessing Web Setup
1. INTRODUCTION
The most efficient way to configure and setup Unity is to use the web-setup utility served directly
from the Unity Module. Most settings can be adjusted in the web-setup.
2. HOW TO STEP-BY-STEP
STEP 1: Using the left or right arrow button on the LCD or TVDI remote,
navigate the applications icon menu until the “Setup” icon is in the middle
of the display and press the “talk/select” button.
STEP 2: Use the down arrow button to select the “Network Info” option and
press the “talk/select” button.
STEP 3: Open your PC web browser and enter
the Web Setup IP address into the address bar of
the browser.
3. SPECIAL NOTES
The PC must be connected to the Local Area Network
supporting Unity.
The only settings you cannot adjust from the web-
setup utility are display settings:
o LCD - Background Position Window Size,
Brightness, Color, Contrast and Background

o TVDI - Background, Position Window Size and
Background Bubbles

Configuring Date/Time Settings
1. INTRODUCTION
There are two ways the date/time info can be setup. The easiest way is to make sure Unity is
connected to the local area network with a shared internet connection allowing the system to auto-
update from the web.
2. HOW TO STEP-BY-STEP
STEP 1: Using the left or right arrow button on the LCD or TVDI remote,
navigate the applications icon menu until the “Setup” icon is in the middle
of the display and press the “talk/select” button.
STEP 2: Use the down arrow button to select “System” and press
“talk/select” to enter the “Setup / System” menu
STEP 3: Press “talk/select” to enter the “Setup/System/Auto Clock
Set” menu.
STEP 4: By default, “Enable Auto Clock Set” is set to “Yes”. To turn it off
for manual set up, use the right-arrow button to select “No”.
STEP 5: Using the down arrow button, highlight the “Select Time
Zone” field and use the right-arrow button to select the correct time
zone.

STEP 5: Using the down-arrow button, highlight the “Daylight Saving Time”
field and use the right-arrow button to select “No” if you are installing Unity
in an area that does not observe daylight saving time.
STEP 6: If necessary, you can adjust the
“DST Begin” and “DST End” Settings.
3. SPECIAL NOTES
If you disabled the auto-clock set feature or if the
local area network does not have a shared internet
connection, you can manually set the “Time” and
“Date” by selecting each menu separately and use
the arrow keys to set each field to the correct
values.

Changing Device Names
1. INTRODUCTION
Each device will be assigned a default name based on what type of device it is.
Changing a device name from the default is recommended to personalize the system to the
project and identify where the device is located such as in the Kitchen, Family Room, or Bedroom

Further personalization is recommended once the home is occupied as Bedroom 1 might be
Johnny’s Room. It will be easier for the end user to operate the system properly if they are able to
select a device in Johnny’s Room.
2. HOW TO STEP-BY-STEP
STEP 1: Using the left or right arrow button on the LCD or TVDI remote,
navigate the applications icon menu until the “Setup” icon is in the middle
of the display and press the “talk/select” button.
STEP 2: Use the down arrow button to select the device type you want to
change and press “talk/select” to enter the device specific sub menu. For
example, select “Intercom” to change the name of an intercom device.
STEP 3: Use the down arrow to select the specific device options you
want to change and press “talk/select” to enter the device specific sub
menu. For example, “Room Options” to change the name of a
Selective Call Intercom room unit.
STEP 4: Use the down arrow to select the specific device you want to
rename. For example, “ROOM 1”.

STEP 5: With the name field highlighted, press the left or right arrow
buttons to select from over 100 preprogrammed names. For example,
“Bedroom 1”
STEP 6: To custom enter a name, like “Johnny’s Rm” press the “Custom”
button and use the pop up keyboard navigating with the left, right, up, down,
hot keys across the bottom and the “talk/select” buttons to spell the custom
name. Once finished, press the “Accept” button to save the name.
STEP 7: Once you have entered the correct name press “Done” to
save the name and return to the previous sub menu.
3. SPECIAL NOTES
Press the “Home” button anytime to return to the main applications icon menu.

Associating Cameras & SCI devices
1. INTRODUCTION
Unity can display a camera image on the LCD when an intercom device is selected, allowing the
individual operating the LCD to see the selected room while making a call.
2. HOW TO STEP-BY-STEP
STEP 1: Using the left or right arrow button on the LCD or TVDI remote,
navigate the applications icon menu until the “Setup” icon is in the middle
of the display and press the “talk/select” button.
STEP 2: Use the down arrow button to select “Intercom” and press
“talk/select” to enter the “Setup/Intercom” menu..
STEP 3: Use the down arrow to select the specific intercom device
type you want to configure and press “talk/select”. For example,
“Room Options” to associate a camera in a room with a Selective Call
Intercom room unit in the same room.
STEP 4: Use the right-arrow to select the specific device you want to
associate a camera with. For example, “Johnny’s Room”
STEP 5: Use the down-arrow button to highlight the “Camera” field.
STEP 6: Use the right-arrow button to select the
name of the camera you want to associate. For
example “Johnny’s Room”
