1.2 Product Overview

Power Connector

1.3 What you’ll need

 Windows PC or Mac OS or Linux computer with internet browser

 A power outlet

 A Philips screwdriver or power drill with Phillips driver bit

 Wi-Fi and a networking broadband internet connection with at least 2Mbps upload speed. DSL may

not qualify

1.4 Do this first

 Follow the instructions to add it to Camera Live program

Install the Camera Live program from installation CD or download the program from link below, then follow

the instructions to add the camera to the program and stream live video under wired condition.

 Bring your camera to the spot

Once you’ve added the camera to your Wi-Fi network, unplug it and take it to the spot you’ve chose outdoors.

Plug it into the outlet you want to use and wait for the green light to turn on. The TriVision indoor camera

will reconnect to your Wi-Fi network automatically. This may take a minute or two. Keep the TriVision indoor

camera plugged in for the rest of the installation

Before you mount the camera, make sure it can get Wi-Fi in the spot you’ve picked.

Hold your TriVision indoor camera where you’d like to mount it and check to make sure it’s streaming video

to the Anyscene app. If you don’t see video, the Wi-Fi may not be strong enough there—you’ll need to find

a different spot or move your Wi-Fi router.

1.5 Choose a good spot

NC-250W HD 1080P (with Wi-Fi only) and NC-250PW HD 1080P (with Wi-Fi and POE).

Avoid direct sunlight

The TriVision indoor Camera is designed to operate between -4°F and 104°F (-20°C to 40°C). If it gets hotter

or colder, image quality and Wi-Fi may be affected.

Keep it in range of your router

Make sure to pick a place within range of your network. Thick or insulated walls can greatly reduce the

strength of your Wi-Fi signal even if your router is close by, so you should try streaming video before you

mount your camera. Hold your TriVision outdoor camera where you’d like to mount it and check to make

sure it’s streaming video to the app on your mobile. If you don’t see smooth video, the Wi-Fi may not be

strong enough there—you’ll need to find a different spot or move your Wi-Fi router.

Consider the surroundings

Is a post, plant or porch light blocking the view? It might throw off exposure or Night Vision. If you start

noticing glare, adjust the camera so the horizon is out of frame. At night, with the infra-red lights, the cameras

simply show reflected light. If the camera is pointed at empty space (not pointed at trees, grass, or other

objects), the night time picture will be entirely black. The infra-red lights seem to project out roughly 50 feet

- of course at that distance at night it will be difficult to pick out many details about the object that is recorded.

Place it up high

But not too high. We find 7-10 feet above the ground, tilted downward, is best-close enough to see

someone’s face and listen the audio around the camera. Check the video in the app to make sure TriVision

Camera is seeing what you want to see.

1.6 Mount your camera

Screw the wall plate onto your wall. It’s a good idea to drill pilot holes first. If the wall is made of a material

like brick or stone, you may need to use the included wall anchors to hold the screws.

Then the nut can be slightly tightened using a coin, the camera can be rotated onto the mounting post

without the cables getting in the way. Then you’d loosen the nut using a coin and position the slot in the ball

joint upwards so that the camera can be directed to the desired viewing angle, and the nut can then be

tightened with a coin to lock this position into place.

Alternatively, it allows attachment of the mounting bracket from above if you are planning to install the

camera under an eave or to a ceiling.

1.7 No Power Outlet—POE (Power Over Ethernet)

The TriVision NC-250PW HD 1080P PRO is a very flexible network camera which works with PoE (power over

Ethernet) devices that comply with the most common industry standard, known as IEEE 802.3af.

You have 2 ways in which you can power the camera: with the included 12 V power supply, or you can use

PoE instead of the AC adapter. If you use PoE, the included 12 V power supply would not be used at all. Now,

there are also 2 ways to provide PoE power to the camera: You can use a PoE injector, such as the one from

TP-LINK TL-PoE150S or you can use a PoE network switch such as the Netgear GS108PE. Either way, powering

the camera with PoE allows a cable length of up to 300 ft. This allows the camera to be placed in areas that

aren't close to a power outlet and with weak /without Wi-Fi signal strength

Note: One thing to keep in mind about the choice of a PoE injector vs switch: If you use a PoE injector, you

can still use the camera with wired or wireless networking. However, if you use a network switch, the camera

will assume you want to use wired networking and will shut down the wireless adapter in the camera. So you

would only use a network switch if you intend to connect the switch to your router for a completely wired

(not wireless) networking setup. But the advantage of a PoE switch is that they can usually power multiple

cameras, while PoE injectors tend to be for one device only

1.8 No Wi-Fi Signal

The camera is located too far away from the wireless access point, or the wireless signal is being blocked by

various objects in between (the wireless signal cannot pass through metal). Thick or insulated walls can

greatly reduce the strength of your Wi-Fi signal even if your router is close by, so you should try streaming

video before you mount your camera. Here is how you can tell if it will work for you: Hold your TriVision

indoor camera to the exact spot where you want to install the camera and check to make sure it’s streaming

video to the app on your mobile. If you don’t see smooth video, In that case, there are a number of options.

Wireless Access Point (Wi-Fi Extender):

Tip: The Wi-Fi extender usually has 5 modes: Access Point, Repeater, Bridge mode, Client and Router mode.

In this scenario, you should set your Wi-Fi extender as Repeater mode.

POE (Power over Ethernet): The NC-250PW HD 1080P is a very flexible network camera. You have

2 ways in which you can connect it to a network: wired or wireless. You have 2 ways in which you can power

the camera: with the included 12 V power supply, or you can use PoE instead of the AC adapter. If you use

Power Line Adapter: with Power line adapter, No worry about the disconnection after power failure,

wireless interference, weak Wi-Fi signal strength, removal the camera from attic or wall for resetting the

camera back to default factory setting or router replacement or ISP change.

• Please ensure the adapters are connected on the same circuit

2.0 Add your camera to Camera Live Program

1. Connect the included Ethernet cable to the network jack on the camera and connection the other end to one of the

LAN jacks of your router. Then connect the power supply to the camera and to a wall plug. If your camera has a

removable antenna, you may want to attach it now. IMPORTANT: Make sure camera is plugged into your router!

Do not connect the camera to the computer, even if your computer has an available Cat5 LAN jack.

2. Add your camera to the Camera Live software. Total 3 steps!

A) Download and Install the Camera Live program from the installation CD in the package or contact our technical support :

B) Enter camera UID. Click Camera Live icon"Add video""discover"->elect the camera UID-> click OK.

Please note: If the camera is not located at the same local network as your PC, the Camera Live program will be unable

to scan the camera using the discovery function. Alternatively, to add a camera manually enter the UID code (always in

upper case). You can get the camera UID from sticker on your camera cable

C) Enter camera user name (always “admin”), login password, a camera name for your camera (such as front door, back

yard…). Then click “OK”. Wait till the chain icon turns in green, double click on the camera, then view the camera live.

The default setting:

User Name: admin

Password: admin

Please note: If you added the cameras to the app on your mobile or PC, and later changed the default passwords on

the camera or in the app, then you should need to specify the updated password, otherwise the cameras will show as

disconnected.

3.0 Add your camera to Wi-Fi Network

1. After adding your camera to Camera Live program, Click “Setup”->“Search”, you will get the camera information

(camera ip address, Mac address, UID code and more) on your home network (LAN). Warning: Ensure the camera is

plugged in to the same router/network switch that your computer and Smartphone are connected to.

The camera live program can only scan cameras that are on the same network when using the search tool.

2. Select the camera and click “browser” tab, you will go to the main login screen in web browser on your PC or Mac. Or

directly add http:// in front of the camera ip address and open it in a browser, such as http://192.168.1.4. To see video,

click on “Enter”. To access the camera web setting interface, click on “setting”.

3. [Enter] Lets you view live video transmitted by the camera. To see video, click on “Enter”

[Setting] This section allows you to setup your camera with its various settings. To setup, click on “Setting”.

The default setting:

Username: admin

Password: admin

4. Click “Network”“Wireless setup” “Search” button for the camera to scan for available Wi-Fi networks to connect

to. You may see a whole list of networks in your neighborhood. A new screen will display all the wireless networks found.

5. Select the desired network, and click OK. The camera will automatically choose the best options for connecting to the

network. You then need to enter your Wi-Fi password (WPA key). Do NOT change any of the other settings (SSID, Mode,

security mode, Encryption type), just enter WPA key. When you have entered the WPA key, click on “Apply”, you’ll get a

message about “Wireless setup accepted successfully”, but that only means that the information was stored in the

camera.

Note: WPA key also known as wireless key or password. Please remember that both WPA and WPA2 keys are case

sensitive and need to be between 8 and 63 characters.

6. Now you should use the “Test” feature to check if you typed it correctly. If the test reports “Wireless Test Successful”

you can remove the network cable and it should work wireless after a short delay. Congratulations! At this point you

should be able to use your camera wired or wireless on your local network using the same local IP address.

If the test reports “no wireless connection”, please double check your WPA key (Wireless password). Please note: The Wi-

Fi password can be any mixture of lower and uppercase alpha-numeric characters. Extended characters are not permitted

If you don’t remember the exact spelling of your password, you can login your router and check your router’s wireless setup

menu. We recommend that you temporarily remove wireless security from your router for a quick experiment to see if the

setup succeeds with no passwords. Then put the password back in and try again. Many times this will refresh your memory

about the exact spelling of your password.

The maximum distance is dependent on the kinds of walls and objects that are between your wireless router antenna and

your camera. One easy test for determining the maximum recommended distance is by holding your TriVision outdoor

camera to the exact spot where you want to install the camera and check to make sure it’s streaming video to the app on

your mobile. If you don’t see smooth video, In that case, there are a number of options.

Keep in mind that the wireless signal travels easily through common building materials such as wood, glass, sheet rock, and

vinyl siding, but does not go at all through metal. If there are any big metal objects such as a fridge, filling cabinet, or HVAC

ducting in between the Wi-Fi router and the camera, try to reposition either the camera or the router so that the metal

object doesn’t block the signal. The best placement for a wireless router is in an area that is higher up and free of nearby

clutter, for example on top of a wooden book shelf .

4.0 Micro SD card Alarm Record

For indoor cameras, the Micro SD card slot is on the side of camera show below.

1. Insert the micro SD card

1. Power off the camera as applicable.

2. Hold the Micro SD card with the printed side facing upward and the golden pins facing toward the Micro SD slot,

then slide the Micro SD into the slot and there is a positive “click” when it is locked in place. If it doesn’t want to

go in effortless it is probably upside down. Be careful not to touch the lens.

2. Access your camera web interface

With Camera Live program or directly add http:// in front of your camera ip address and open it in a browser, such as

http://192.168.1.4, You will go to the main login screen in web browser on your PC or Mac.

3. Camera Settings

To setup, click on “Setting”, enter user name and password, you will go to this:

4. Storage Setup

Click “Storage” -- storage setup elect SD card apply to store your setting.

5. Format SD Card

Logon to the camera, Click Settings>Enable Storage on SD card>Format SD card. The SD card format can take a few

minutes depending on the size of the SD card. After the SD card is formatted, the Format SD card page will temporarily

display status as "Not Ready" even the format page display “format successfully”. Click “system” menu on the right top

of the setting page, the storage status will display the real status of the SD card after formatting

6. Task Management

Logon to the camera, under Settings>Task>Task Management

[Enable] Enable task you want.

[Schedule] Option to choose always (default) or set a particular schedule.

[Task] Task function. Click on the task to login the task setting screen below.

Click Apply to confirm your setting

There are various tasks you can enable on your camera. This section will explain the various tasks and their functions

7. Record to Storage on Alarm

1. [Record from]-- Select the stream from which it should record. It can be “Primary stream” (default), “Secondary

stream” and “Mobile Stream”. For smaller pictures you can select from “Secondary stream” or “Mobile Stream”.

2. [Post-recording time]--The number of seconds that the camera should keep recording video after motion stops. If

there is any motion within this time the camera will keep recording until there is no motion for the duration of

this parameter. It can be from 5 seconds to 24 hours.

3. [Split duration]-- This specifies the maximum duration of one file. If the recording goes on for longer than this

parameter the camera will split the video into a number of files.

4. [Record thumbnail]-- Enable or disable thumbnail.

5. [Image file name] --Name of file image snap shots are saved to

5.0 Camera Live Program

5.1 Play, Delete and Modify Camera

Click on icon to play/delete/modify camera.

This icon indicates that the camera is online and a connection is established.

This icon indicates that the camera is disconnected.

If the chain icon stays red when attempting to connect, please check the UID (always in upper case) you typed.

Both the default user name and password is admin, all are lowercase letters.

Also check the camera’s hardware connections according to the Hardware Installation chapter. Check your

Internet connection.
