Safety Warnings
• Do not install or place this unit in a bookcase,
built-in cabinet or in another conned space.
Ensure the unit is well ventilated.
Safety
• Always disconnect the unit from the mains
supply before connecting / disconnecting other
devices or moving the unit.
• Unplug the unit from the mains socket during a
lightning storm.
• In the interests of safety and to avoid unnecessary
energy consumption, never leave the unit
switched on while unattended for long periods
of time, e.g. overnight, while on holiday or while
out of the house. Switch it o and disconnect the
mains plug from the mains socket.
Mains Cable
• Make sure the unit or unit stand is not resting on
top of the mains cable, as the weight of the unit
may damage the mains cable and create a safety
hazard.
• If the mains cable is damaged it must be replaced
by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly
qualied persons in order to avoid a hazard.
Interference
• Do not place the unit on or near appliances
which may cause electromagnetic interference. If
you do, it may adversely aect the working of the
unit, and cause a distorted sound.
Earphones
• Listening to loud sounds for prolonged periods of
time may permanently damage your hearing.
• Before putting on earphones, turn the
volume down then put the earphones on and
slowly increase the volume until you reach a
comfortable listening level.
Batteries
• Batteries used in the unit are easily swallowed by
young children and this is dangerous.
• Keep loose batteries away from young children
and make sure that the battery holder tray is
secure in the unit. Seek medical advice if you
believe a cell has been swallowed.
• Please dispose of batteries correctly by following
the guidance in this manual.
• Do not expose the battery to direct sunlight or
sources of excessive heat.
• Read all the instructions carefully before using
the unit and keep them for future reference.
• Retain the manual. If you pass the unit onto a
third party make sure to include this manual.
• Check that the voltage marked on the rating label
matches your mains voltage.
Damage
• Please inspect the unit for damage after
unpacking.
• Do not continue to operate the unit if you are in
any doubt about it working normally, or if it is
damaged in any way - switch o, unplug from the
mains socket and consult your dealer.
Location of Unit
• The unit must be placed on a at stable surface
and not subjected to vibrations.
• Do not place the unit on sloped or unstable
surfaces as the unit may fall o or tip over.
• The mains socket must be located near the unit
and should be easily accessible.
Temperature
• Avoid extreme degrees of temperature, either
hot or cold. Place the unit well away from heat
sources such as radiators or gas / electric res.
• Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and other
sources of heat.
Naked Flames
• Never place any type of candle or naked ame on
the top of or near the unit.
Moisture
• To reduce the risk of re, electric shock or product
damage, do not expose this unit to rain, moisture,
dripping or splashing. No objects lled with
liquids, such as vases, should be placed on the
unit.
• If you spill any liquid into the unit, it can cause
serious damage. Switch it o at the mains
immediately. Withdraw the mains plug and
consult your dealer.
Ventilation
• To prevent the risk of electric shock or re hazard
due to overheating, ensure that curtains and
other materials do not obstruct the ventilation
vents.
• A minimum distance of 5cm around the unit
should be maintained to allow for sucient
ventilation.

Supervision
• Children should be supervised to ensure that
they do not play with the unit.
• Never let anyone especially children push
anything into the holes, slots or any other
openings in the case - this could result in a fatal
electric shock.

herein may result in hazardous radiation
exposure.
• Before moving the unit, ensure the disc tray is
empty.
• Always remove the disc when the unit is not in
use. Failure to do so will risk severely damaging
the disc and the unit.
• Do not stack devices, heat from other devices
may aect the performance of the unit.

Power Source
Mains Power
Check that the voltage marked on the rating label matches your mains voltage. Connect
the mains cable to the back of the unit then plug into a mains socket.
Battery Power
Alternatively, insert 8 x C size batteries (not included) correctly by following the polarity (+
and –) indications in the battery compartment.
Handling the Batteries
• Improper or incorrect use of batteries may cause corrosion or battery leakage, which
could cause re, personal injury or damage to property.
• When the batteries are exhausted, the appliance will not function. Replace batteries at
the same time with new ones.
• Use only the types of batteries indicated in this manual.
• Do not install new batteries with used ones and do not mix dierent types of batteries.
• Do not dispose of used batteries as domestic waste. Dispose of them in accordance
with local regulations.
• Remove batteries from the unit if you do not plan to use it for a long period of time,
otherwise the batteries may leak.

Using Earphones
Turn down the volume before connecting the earphones. Slowly raise the volume with the
earphones on until you reach your desired volume. When earphones are connected, the
speaker is automatically disabled.
Radio Operation
General Operation
• Set the FUNCTION selector to FM ST. mode.
• Adjust radio frequency to your desired station with the TUNING control. The FM Stereo
indicator will light up.
• Adjust the sound with the VOLUME control.
For Better Reception
• Extend and rotate the FM aerial for better FM reception.
Long-term exposure to loud music may cause hearing damage. It is best to
avoid extreme volume when using earphones, especially for extended periods.

Playback
1. Set the FUNCTION selector to CD mode.
2. Open the CD door by pressing the bottom right area of the
door marked “OPEN/CLOSE” and place a CD with the label side
facing up.
3. Close the CD door simply by pushing down the door until a
cick is heard.
4. Focus search is performed if a disc is inside. Total number of
tracks is read and appears on the display.
If the disc is loading, the display window will display “
”.
If there is no disc inside, the display window will display “
”.
If the CD door is not closed, the display window will display “
”.
Total track
If the unit is idle for more than 30 minutes, it will
automatically switch to STANDBY mode. Press the
PROG./RESTART button to resume.
The CD player does not support MP3 - CD discs.

PLAY / PAUSE
• Press to start playing CD.
• Press again to stop playing CD temporarily.
• Press again to resume playback.
NEXT and BACK
• Press to go to the next track or back to the previous track.
• Press and hold while playing until you nd the place on the track you want.
STOP
• Press to stop all CD operation.
Programme
Up to 20 tracks can be programmed for playing in any order.
1. Press the PROG./RESTART button, 01 and the “program”
indicator will ash on the display.
2. Select desired track with the NEXT or BACK button.
3. Press the PROG./RESTART button again to conrm selected
track into the programme memory.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to enter additional tracks into the
programme memory.
When the memory is full, all programmed tracks will
show on the display in the order they are programmed.
5. When all the desired tracks have been programmed, press the
PLAY/PAUSE button to play the disc in the order you have
programmed the tracks. The “program” indicator will illuminate.
You can also press the STOP button when all the
desired tracks are programmed. To playback the
programmed tracks, press the PROG./RESTART button
and then the PLAY/PAUSE button. The “program”
indicator will illuminate.
6. To stop playing, press the STOP button. The “program” indicator
is still illuminated. To playback, just press the PLAY/PAUSE
button.

Erasing a Programme
In program mode (the “program” indicator is illuminated), you can erase the contents of the
memory by pressing the STOP button (or pressing the STOP button twice during playback)
or by opening the CD door. The “program”indicator will disappear.

Press the REPEAT button before or during CD playback. You can set a single track or all the
tracks to play repeatedly. Each press switches the repeat mode as follows:

Maintenance
Cleaning the Unit
• To clean the unit, wipe the case with a slightly moist, lint-free cloth.
• Do not use any cleaning uids containing alcohol, ammonia or abrasives.
• Do not spray aerosol at or near the unit.
Handling Discs
• Do not touch the playback side of the disc.
• Do not attach paper or tape to the disc.
Cleaning Discs
• Fingerprints and dust on the disc cause picture and sound deterioration. Wipe the disc
from the centre outwards with a soft cloth. Always keep the disc clean.
Playback side
• If you cannot wipe o the dust with a soft cloth, wipe the disc lightly with a slightly
moistened soft cloth and nish with a dry cloth.
• Do not use any type of solvent such as thinner, benzine, commercially available
cleaners or antistatic spray. They may damage the disc.
Storing Discs
• Do not store discs in places subjected to direct sunlight or near heat sources.
• Do not store discs in places subjected to moisture and dust such as a bathroom or near
a humidier.
• Storing discs vertically in a case, stacking discs or placing objects on discs outside of
their cases may cause warping.
Ensure the unit is fully unplugged from the mains socket before cleaning.

Hints and Tips
If a problem does occur, it may often be due to something very minor. The following table
contains various tips.
Problem Cause / Solution
No power supply Check that the mains cable is correctly connected to the
mains socket and the unit.
No sound from the speakers • Check if the VOLUME control is set to minimum.
• The system may be in pause mode. Press the PLAY/
PAUSE
button to resume normal playback.
Poor FM reception • Make sure FM aerial is fully extended.
• Electrical interference in your home can cause poor
reception. Move the unit away from them (especially
those with motors and transformers).
The CD compartment cannot
be closed
The disc is not correctly positioned in its compartment.
CD does not play • The disc is dirty.
• The disc is placed upside down.
• The system may be in pause mode. Press the PLAY/
PAUSE
button to resume playback.
• It is a MP3 disc. Replace with an Audio CD.
Audio distortions or no audio
during CD playback
The surface of the disc is dirty or scratched.
The unit does not function
properly while using battery.
• Batteries are dead. Replace with new batteries.
• The polarities of the batteries are inserted in reverse.
Insert them properly.
If any anomaly occurs, switch the FUNCTION selector to OFF position, and then
switch it back to CD or FM ST. position again.
