• Before wiring to power supply, turn off electricity at fuse or circuit breaker.

• Disconnect A.C. power before servicing.

• All servicing should be performed by qualified personnel.

• Consult your local building code for approved wiring and installation.

• Do not install this kit outdoors or in wet locations.

• Do not install near gas or electric heater.

• Fixture must be grounded to avoid potential electric shock.

• Equipment should be mounted in locations and at heights where it will not

readily be subjected to tampering by unauthorized personnel.

• The use of accessory equipment not recommended by the manufacturer

may cause an unsafe condition.

• Do not use this equipment for other than intended use.

• The total electrical load on the branch circuit to which this kit is installed

shall not exceed 80 per cent of the rating of the branch circuit protective

device.

8. Route Test Switch Harness 2$ [emergency (SD) versions only] and

Lamp Harness 2% through center opening in Adapter Plate Assembly

9. Secure the Adapter Plate Assembly by its two captive screws onto

the Precise Rough In Section.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE: In the installation of this retrofit kit, the Adapter Plate

Assembly replaces the Extension Collar 1^ referenced in

1. Remove the old Precise Exit Sign Panel Assembly from its Rough

In Section. Disconnect and remove all of the old electronics from the

Rough In Section.

2. Emergency (SD) units: After continuous power can be supplied,

plug battery to connector on electronics board, per figure 6 on page 4

of CAUTION: Prolonged absence of AC power while

battery is connected may cause battery damage.

3. Install Electronics Assembly s onto Adapter Plate Assembly 4&, as

shown in Figures 1 and 2

. Tighten mounting screw 4* securely.

4. Slide Ground Clip 4( onto edge of Electronics Chassis o.

5. Slide terminated end of green Ground Wire 5) onto Ground Clip,

making sure there is a firm electrical connection.

6. Connect stripped end of Ground Wire to the ground connection

inside the Rough In Section.
