Part Number: RJ5210199 Rev A
Revision Date: 3/4/08
Tools Required: 9/16" socket wrench with extension. 3/16" and 5/32" allen wrench.
Delivery: Upon receipt of fixture and accessories (packed separately), throughly inspect for any freight damage. All damage should be reported to the delivery carrier.
Compare the catalog description listed on the packing slip with the fixture label on the inside of the housing to be sure you have received the correct merchandise.
1. a) Attach mounting block to the pole by placing the backing plate (#4) inside the pole with
the 3 holed bar stock piece facing out, aligning with the Aeris drill pattern. Place the mounting
block (#3) on the outside of the pole, with the word “Up” towards the top of the pole and facing
outward or away from the pole. Thread the (2) 3/8" diameter hex head bolts (#9) through the
block and pole into the threaded bar stock. (There is no gasket needed) Check plumb and
level of the block and secure bolts tightly with 9/16" wrench or socket.
1. b) Attach pole gasket (#11) to the strut receiver block (#1) and then attach both to the
pole using one 10-24 x 3/4" screw (#12) from the inside of the pole through the top through
the top hole of the bar and pole. The locating pin on the receiver block fits into the second
hole at the top of the pole.
2. Open doorframe by loosening the (2) captive doorframe screws using 3/16" allen wrench.
3. Unhook safety-restraining cable. Loosen the 10-24 screw at the neck end of the doorframe
1/2 turn.
4. Remove door by sliding the hinge latch up and away from hinge, close door slightly and
lift door assembly off. Set aside for reinstallation.
5. Place the three wires from the fixture through the center hole of the mounting block
assembly, pulling them into the pole. Place the fixture onto the mounting block, being sure
the wires are not pinched.
6. Tighten the locking hex head bolt inside the arm with a 9/16" socket to 20-30 ft. lbs. torque.
Check the mounted assembly to assure proper placement and secured mounting has been
achieved. Install the lamp, being sure it is of the same wattage, source and ANSI code as
indicated on the ballast and fixture label. Screw the lamp into the socket, back it out one
or two turns, and tighten it securely again. This procedure properly seats the lamp in the
socket.
7. Re-install the door asembly by placing hinge of doorframe on fixed hinge rod of fixture.
Slide hinge latch on the doorframe over hinge rod. Tighten 10-24 hinge latch screw. Hook
the safety cable to its proper location. Close the door assembly, and tighten the (2) captive
doorframe screws.
8. Make wire connections, observice proper voltage and polarity. Connect green ground
wire from the fixture to the field ground wire.
9. Attach aluminum rod (#6) using the two 1/4" x 1-1/4" black oxide screws (*8) to the receiver
(#1) on the top of the fixture and to the receiver on the pole using 5/32" allen wrench. Tighten
until head of screw is flush with the receiver block (see diagram for step 1).
OPTICAL ROTATION -
WARNING: Burn Risk - Ensure lamp cools before performing maintenance. Assure that the unit is NOT engerized during this procedure.
To rotate: Open door (refer to step 2 per the pole mounted instructions above). Gently lift the optical assembly away from the fixture. Once optical assembly is free from it's
position, rotate to desired direction. Gently place assembly back into the housing, being sure that the holding devices are aligned with the spring clips. Make sure no wires
interfere with this process. Snap reflector into place. Be sure that the optical assembly has not been positioned past the seating position on the spring clips. Re-check seating
position for secured application. Reinstall lamp-- refer to step 6 per the pole mounted instructions above. Close door -- refer to step 7 per the pole mounted instructions above.
To change optical assemblies, follow optical rotation instructions above, except, once the optical asssembly is free from the seating and spring clips, disconnect socket
leads via quick disconnect. Connect the quick disconnect of the new optical assembly with the connector in the unit. Continue optical rotation instructions above.
TB - Tapped Ballast - The tapped ballast will be wired for 277 volt at the factory. To wire a fixture that contains a tapped ballast, first determine correct line voltage. Then
select the proper fixture ballast voltage lead, remove crimped cap and connect to supply voltage lead. The fixture lead marked COM should then be connected to the neutral
supply lead on all multi-voltage fixtures; be sure to cap off all unused fixture leads individually.
TROUBLESHOOTING - If this fixture fails to operate properly, check to make sure: • The correct lamp is properly installed. •The fixture is wired correctly. •The lamp is
not faulty. • The fixture is grounded correctly. •The line voltage at the fixture is correct.
