D. Connect the included HDMI cable (black cable with
at gold ends) from the HDPVR to your TV. Both video
and audio travel through HDMI cable. Note the input
you plug your HDMI cable into on the back of your TV
(i.e. HDMI 1, HDMI 2, etc.). For more advanced audio/
video setups, please refer to the manufacturers guide
included with your HDPVR.
E. Connect the included power adapter from the wall
power outlet to the HDPVR.

NOW WE JUST NEED TO GET YOUR BOX ACTIVATED.
A. Turn on your HDPVR by pressing the power button on the front of the box. After a couple of seconds the blue
power indicator will light up to con rm the box has power. The display on the front of your HDPVR may display
multiple messages once it is powered on, this is normal.
B. Select the High De nition (HD) input (i.e. HDMI 1, HDMI 2, etc.) that you plugged the HDPVR into in step 2-D.
C. Activate your HDPVR online by visiting SHAW.CA/ACTIVATIONS. Make sure you have your serial number and
account number ready. If you do not have Internet access, or need additional help, please call us at 1.888.270.2433
D. The IR Receiver can be plugged in to EXT IR IN on the back of the HDPVR if you wish to place your HDPVR out of
sight (i.e. in a cabinet). The IR Receiver should be placed somewhere that your remote will have a clear line
of sight to.
E. To program your Shaw Universal Remote to work with your TV (adjust volume etc.), follow the “Quick Setup”
instructions on the reverse of the remote or visit www.urcsupport.com/shaw.
Note: Once your HDPVR is activated it may take a few minutes for your on-screen programming
guide to display and up to 30 minutes for program information to load.
