USB PowerPlate Series Installation Guide
The Extron
®
USB PowerPlate 200 Series and the
Flex55 USB PowerPlate 102 are USB power charging products. They
provide power for electronic mobile devices (such as smartphones and
tablets) from an external Extron power supply. Each PowerPlate model
has two female USB A connectors and includes an external power
supply and an AC power cord.
The USB PowerPlate 200 AC AAP adds a pass-through AC receptacle
and requires two AC outlets for installation. Two AC power cords are
included with this model.
Installation
• Wire the power supply — Connect the included external power
supply to the 2-pole captive screw connector on the rear panel to
provide power for the USB connectors. Run the power supply wires
to the rear of the USB circuit board. Cut, strip, and connect the power
supply wires as shown at right.
• Power specification — To view the power specications pertaining
to these products, go to www.extron.com.
NOTES:
• Ensure the installation meets the local, state, and national
regulatory requirements, including building, electrical, and safety
codes, and UL and ADA accessibility requirements.
• The equipment must be installed only in UL listed products
that accept Architectural Adapter Plates (AAPs) and Mini
Architectural Adapter Plates (MAAPs) or in a listed junction box
with the provided junction box faceplate in accordance with the
National Electric Code and the Canadian Electrical Code. AC
Cord connected products in the AAP and MAAP families cannot
be xed to a wall or a oor.

NOTE: USB PowerPlate products distribute power between the two
USB connectors according to the requirements of each connected
device. Large tablets and other devices can have high power
requirements. When the maximum available power is reached,
the connected device may notify you that it is not charging while
receiving a low charge.
