MKP 10 MAAP Installation and Operation
Selecting an input or output number by rotating the MKP 3000’s Select knob in a large
matrix switcher system can be inconvenient. The optional MKP 10 MAAP keypad
allows more rapid input and output selection.
MKP 10 MAAP Mounting
The MKP 3000 MAAP has a space that allows the
installation of an MKP 10 keypad.
Mount the MKP 10 MAAP to the MKP 3000 MAAP as
follows:
The proper MKP 10 orientation is with the power
LED up.
1. Sandwich the MKP 3000 MAAP panel between
the MKP 10 module (without its front panel) and
the MKP 10’s front panel. Secure the front
panel to the control panel module with the
included #4-40 screws.
2. See the drawing below. Connect the
serial control and power cable between
the J1 connector (

) on the MKP 10
MAAP and the Remote Keypad port
(

) on the rear of the MKP 3000 MAAP.

3. Mount the MKP 3000 MAAP panel (with the mounted MKP 10 MAAP) to the wall
box or mounting bracket.

Power LED — When lit, this LED indicates that power is applied to the
MKP 10 MAAP.
The MKP 10 MAAP receives power from the connected
MKP 3000 MAAP.

Cancel key — Press and release the cancel key to reset the selected input or
output value shown in the MKP 3000’s LCD display to 000 before using the
numeric keys (

) to enter a specific value.

Numeric keys — Press and release the numeric (0 — 9) keys to enter a
specific value as the selected input or output shown in the MKP 3000’s
LCD display.

Back key — Press and release the Back key to backspace (erase) the least-
significant (rightmost) digit shown in the LCD display.
