Safety Precautions During Handling and Installation
Read and adhere to the following important safety considerations when working
with this module.
DANGER
DANGER OF FALLING/SLIDING/TIPPING OVER OF THE PREFAB MODULE
DURING UNLOADING AND LEVELING
• Use hoisting equipment (slings, chains, …) in good condition and with
sufficient capacity to support the specified load.
• Prefab module unloading must be carried out by the contractor’s authorized
personnel.
• Set a security perimeter around the unloading area.
• The prefab module must be properly fixed.
• Do not walk or stand under the prefab module.
• Raising and lowering of the Prefab module must be done slowly, avoiding
any abrupt start or stop.
• Use hydraulic jacks or other appropriated means for leveling.
Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious injury.
DANGER
DANGER OF SHOVING/CRUSHING DURING THE HANDLING OF THE
PREFAB MODULE
• In case the Prefab module must be moved to its final location on skids/skid
boards, placed under the module, it must be dragged by means of a forklift
or another appropriate device.
• Use hoisting equipment (slings, chains, …) in good condition and with
sufficient capacity to support the specified load.
• Forklifts must be operated by contractor’s authorized personnel.
• Establish a secured handling area.
• Keep a safe distance from the Prefab module, forklift, or other devices while
these are moving.
• Move the Prefab module slowly with the forklift or other means, avoiding any
sudden start or stop.
Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious injury.
DANGER
DANGER OF FALLS AT DIFFERENT LEVEL DURING THE ASSEMBLY OF
PARTS OR EQUIPMENT
• Safety shoes must be used.
• If the use of ladders is necessary for the assembly of parts in elevated
locations, they must be in good condition.
• The ladders must be used following safe working practices, applicable to
their use.

COMPONENTS
• Mechanical protective gloves must be used.
• Proper tools must be used (scissors, cutters, pliers, etc.), after verifying that
they are in good condition
• Safety shoes must be used.

WARNING
HAZARD DURING FORKLIFT OPERATIONS
• Forklifts can only be operated by authorized personnel.
• Loads must be transported following safe working practices, applicable to
forklift operation.
• Forklifts must be in good condition.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, serious injury, or
equipment damage.
WARNING
HAZARD DURING ASSISTED OR MANUAL HANDLING OF LOADS
• If possible, use mechanical devices for lifting / positioning equipment or parts
of significant weight (>20 Kg.).
• The mechanical means that are used (forklifts, lifting devices, etc.) must be
in good condition and can only be operated by authorized personnel.
• Manual handling of heavy loads (> 20 Kg.) must be performed according to
the safe techniques, applicable to this operation, and only when no
mechanical devices can be used.
• Loads must be lifted by bending the knees, avoiding the bending of the back.
Keep the load close to the body.
• Objects heavier than 20 kg or with non-standard shapes must be handled
between two or more persons.
• The objects to be manipulated manually must be carried above knee height
and below shoulder height.
• Gloves for mechanical protection must be used if there is a risk of cutting or
puncturing.
• Use safety shoes.

NOTICE
HAZARD OF DAMAGE DUE TO HEAT
During external piping connection works (welding, brazing, etc.), all relevant
precautions must be taken to avoid direct contact of heat sources with material

Safety Precautions During Operation
Read and adhere to the following important safety considerations when installing,
operating or performing maintenance or any other activities on this equipment.
DANGER
HAZARD OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, EXPLOSION, OR ARC FLASH
• This module contains live electrical components. All electrical equipment
must be installed, operated, serviced and maintained by qualified personnel
who are aware of all the relevant safety precautions.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe
electrical work practices.
• Power can be supplied by multiple sources. Disconnect all power supplying
this system before working on or inside the equipment.
• Hazardous voltage can still be present after disconnecting the power supply.
Always use a properly rated voltage sensing device to confirm all power
supply is disconnected and de-energized.
• All electrical equipment must be properly earthed, in compliance with
applicable local instructions and regulations for electrical earthing. Earth
Fault impedance must be checked per applicable local regulations.
• All devices, doors, and covers must be replaced before restoring the power
supply to this equipment.

HAZARD OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, EXPLOSION, OR ARC FLASH
Do not use water or other conducting substances for fire suppression near
electrical components before confirming all electrical power supply to these
components has been disconnected.

The Schneider Electric Easy Modular Data Center All-in-One (AIO) BD4 is a
100kW Prefabricated Data Center solution, with three levels of electrical
redundancy available, for locations less than 3280 feet [1000 m] above sea level.
It contains server racks, power distribution, at least one UPS (Uninterruptible
Power Supply), cooling units, cable routings, an ARS (Air Renovation System),
and numerous equipment options including a fire suppression system and an ATS
(Automatic Transfer Switch), all housed in a purpose-built 45-foot-long [13716
mm] by 10-foot-six-inch-wide [3250mm] by 11-foot-9-inch-high [3635mm] steel
structure.
Prefabricated modules are pre-engineered, pre-assembled / integrated, and pre-
tested data center infrastructure systems that are delivered as standardized “plug-
in” modules to a data center site. This solution contrasts with the traditional
approach of provisioning physical infrastructure (brick and mortar building) for a
data center with unique one-time engineering, and all assembly, installation,
integration, and testing occurring at the construction site. The benefits of
prefabricated modules include more predictable costs & efficiencies, time savings,
space savings, simplified planning, improved reliability, improved agility, and a
higher level of vendor accountability. Four levels of UPS protection are available
as shown below.

While transporting or handling the BD4 AIO module, always adhere to local and
national codes. All transport, lifting and installation operations must be completed
by certified personnel. Due to the size, additional permits and requirements may
be required from local authorities. In many cases, additional materials and
equipment that will be installed onsite, will need to be shipped in a separate truck.
2.1 Transportation Considerations
Contact Schneider Electric for guidance before moving or decommissioning the
module. Always check that the following conditions are satisfied:
• All input and output power lines are disconnected.
• All communication lines are disconnected.
• Batteries are removed from the UPS cabinets.
• Any loose items are tied down or removed.
• Outside ground connections are removed.
• Outside tie-downs are removed.
• All doors are blocked.
• No other outside attachments remain.

2.3 Lifting
Always check that the following conditions are satisfied or understood:
• All lifting equipment must be capable of resisting the provided lifting loads
applying their corresponding Factors of Safety.
• The module must be lifted from the bottom using the appropriate slings and
spreader bars attached to the lifting positions provided (see Figure 10).
• Distances given in the table above are approximate.
• Horizontality must be verified on site, and the central lifting cable must be
adjusted (in both perpendicular directions) before starting the lifting operation
to avoid tilting or swinging occurring.
•Note: the center of gravity of the module does not line up with its geometric
center.
