TECH NOTES
Out of the box touch device support The Annotator 401 firmware supports
most touch devices out of the box after the calibration process without the need to
load HID modules (touch drivers). Refer to the Annotator 401 user manual for more
information regarding calibration.
HID module support If the touch device you wish to use does not work out of
the box, an HID module may be loaded to the Annotator 401 using PCS. A database
of HID modules can be found at http://www.extron.com/download/hidmodules.aspx.
Communication sheets detailing instructions and devices tested are included with
each module. Please contact your Extron representative if an HID module for your
touch device is not available.
Unsupported USB Extenders Specific USB extenders that have integrated hubs
may not be supported. These devices may have multiple USB connections or only a
single port. The list below documents devices that have been tested and are known
to work.
Powering USB Hubs and Extenders It is highly recommended that USB hubs
and extenders be powered directly using the manufacturer’s power solution. Failing
to directly power the connected hubs and extenders can result in unstable USB
connectivity.
Unsupported USB Mice The Annotator 401 natively supports most standard
wired or wireless mice but may not support mice that would require additional
drivers when connected to a PC.
