PAR-MAX SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS
The PAR-MAX rinse water supply pump needs no
periodicmaintenanceforproperperformance.Theonly
timeserviceworkshouldneedtobeperformedonthe
pump is if it should begin to leak water, suddenly
deliverslesswaterthannormalorshouldstoppumping
altogether.Shouldthepumpbegintoleakwater,itwill
be necessary to replace the diaphragm. If the pump
deliversa reduced rate of flowfrom normal or stops
pumping altogether, it will be necessary to either
removedebrisfromthepump’sflappervalvesorreplace
thevalvecageassembly.
NOTICE: Before performing any service, turn off the
electricalpowertothetoiletandrinsewaterpump.Take
precautiontoensureitisnotturnedonuntilserviceis
complete.Closetheinletfittingseacock.
It is generally easiest to remove the pump from its
installedpositionsothattheservicecanbeperformed
on a work bench.To do this, disconnect the electrical
wiresfromthemotorwireleads.Pushtheportretainer
clips back toward the pump motor and pull the port
fittings from the port sockets. Unscrew the four pump
mountingfastenersandremovethepumptoalocation
whereitcanbedisassembledwithoutlosinganyofthe
pumpcomponents.
Loosenthefour5/16"hex(slotted)machinescrewsin
the pump body and remove the body from the motor
and wobble plate housing (use care to not drop and
lose the port retainer clips and body retaining screws
and washers). The valve cage will now be exposed
whichcanbeeasilyliftedoffthediaphragm.Inspectthe
four outer inlet valves and central discharge valve to
ensuretheyseatsmoothlyagainstthevalvecage.
Lifttheouteredgesofeachvalvetomakecertainthere
isno debrislodged under anyvalve. Ifthere is debris
lodgedunderanyofthevalves,itwillcauseadiminished
flowrateorlossofflowentirely.Ifthevalvesdonotseat
smoothly against the valve cage, the valve cage
assembly should be replaced. If the pump has been
leaking,thediaphragmmustbereplaced.Removethe
four phillips head diaphragm retainer screws and
mushroom shaped diaphragm retainer caps. Remove
thediaphragmanddiaphragmhousingfromthemotor
and wobble plate housing. Inspect the wobble plate
bearing to make certain it is not corroded and still
rotatessmoothly.
With the new diaphragm positioned in the diaphragm
housing(ensuretheraisedsealingbeadsfaceoutward
awayfrom the motor) hold it against the wobble plate
withthefourretainingcapholesalignedwiththewobble
plate sockets. Push each diaphragm retainer cap
throughthediaphragmandintothesocketofthewobble
plate. Secure each retaining cap to the wobble plate
witha1"phillipsheadretainerscrew.Placethemotor
onitsrearendbellandpositionthevalvecageagainst
the diaphragm ensuring each cavities seal groove is
seatedonitssealingbeadmoldedintothediaphragm.
EnsuretheO-ringsealthatseparatesthepumpsintake
chamberfromthedischargechamberisproperlyseated
intheIDoftheraisedliparoundthecentraldischarge
valve.Whileholdingtheportretainerclipsintheirslide
grooves in the pump body, position the body on the
diaphragmandinsidethewobbleplatehousing.Secure
thepumpbodytothewobbleplatehousingwiththefour
2-1/4"machinescrewsandflatwashers.
Reinstall the pump to its mounting surface with four
fasteners through the rubber grommets. Ensure the
sealingO-ringisproperlypositionedoneachportfitting
and,withthe retaining clips slidback,push eachport
fittingintoitsrespectivesocket.
Slide each port retainer clip forward until it snaps
securelyintoitsseatedposition.Reconnecttheorange
motor lead to the positive supply wire and the black
motorleadtothenegativewire.
Ensuretheinletseacockisopenbeforerestoringpower
toandoperatingthetoilet.

the time of shipment, the products manufactured by
JABSCOandsoldhereundershallbeinconformitywith
applicable written specifications and descriptions
referred to or set forth herein, free from defects in
materialandworkmanship,merchantable,andsuitable
for a particular purpose, provided such is implied by
Statelawunderthecircumstancesofthissale.
B. WARRANTY ADJUSTMENT:
JABSCOagreestorepairorfurnishareplacement1.
for, but not to remove or install, any product or
componentthereofwhich,withinone(1)yearfrom
dateofpurchase,shallupontestandexamination
by JABSCO prove defective within the above
warranty.Receiptverifyingpurchasedateisrequired
toobtainadjustment.
BuyershallnotifyJABSCOofanydefectwithinthis2.
warranty no later than ninety (90) days after the
defectisdiscovered.
Noproductwillbeacceptedforreturnorreplacement3.
withoutthe priorwrittenauthorizationof JABSCO.
Upon such authorization, and in accordance with
instructions from JABSCO, the product will be
returnedtoJABSCO,shippingchargesprepaidby
Buyer. Products returned to JABSCO will be
addressedasfollows:
