Tools you need

To install the camera, you will need:

• 12 Vdc power source. See Specications for voltage and wattage requirements.

• Tools and additional fasteners (may be required) for mounting the camera

• Video, audio and power extension cables

• CCTV video setup monitor (optional)

Installation

Before installation:

• Make sure that the device is in good condition and all the assembly parts are included.

• Check the specication of the products for the installation environment.

• Make sure that the wall or the ceiling is strong enough to withstand 3 times the weight of the camera.

• To avoid re or shock hazard, use only UL listed power supplies. Verify that the power supply will

provide the rated voltage and wattage for the camera. See the Specications section.

During installation:

• Camera Lens: Handle the camera carefully to prevent scratching or soiling the lens. If the lens or IR

array shield becomes soiled, clean it only with approved products. See the

Cleaning section.

• Monitor impedance: Set the monitor impedance switch to 75 Ω.

• Power supply: Camera drop cable: The camera drop cable includes two connectors:

— Video BNC connector: For transmission of the video signal across a coax (75 Ω) BNC extension

cable.

— Power connector: When applying Vdc power, observe the power polarity. See the picture

above for connector polarity conguration.

— Audio BNC connector: Connect the audio drop cable to a coax (75 Ω) BNC extension cable.

1. Using the drill template provided with your camera, mark the location of the two screws that anchor

the base assembly to the mounting surface. If you are routing the drop cable through base, also

mark the position of the hole for the drop cable. (See the template above.)

Camera Installation and User Guide

The ALIBI ALI-CD700WAIR dome camera include a new generation sensor with high sensitivity and

advanced circuit design technology. It features high resolution, low image distortion and low noise features

which makes them suitable for surveillance and image processing systems.

2. Drill holes for the screws that anchor the base to the ceiling. The mounting hardware provided is

appropriate for most surfaces. However, depending on the surface materials, more appropriate

fasteners may be required.

3. If using wall inserts for the mounting screws, install them at this time.

4. Drill a 3/4” hole for the camera drop cable, if necessary. The drop cable can be routed through the

mounting surface, or through a cable channel in the base assembly.

5. Route video, power and audio extension cables from your power and monitoring equipment to the

mounting location of the camera. Do not apply power to the power extension cable at this time.

6. Using the L-wrench provided, loosen the four cover screws, and then lift the cover o of the base

assembly.

7. Connect the camera drop cable to the video, power and audio extension cables.

8. Place the pad on the mounting location, and then anchor the base assembly to the surface over the

pad.

9. Connect the video, audio and power extension cables to your monitoring and power equipment.

Apply power to the camera.

10. If you have a CCTV video setup monitor, attach the video lead to the video test cable provided, then

plug the video test cable into the video test jack (see photos above).

11. Verify that you can see a clear video image from the camera on your monitoring equipment, and the

audio is clear.

12. Loosen the pan adjustment screw slightly so that the camera module pan (left and right) can be

adjusted.

13. Attach the “adjustor” tool provided to the camera module. See below.

14. While holding the adjustor in place and observing the video from your camera, adjust the pan, tilt

and rotation of the camera module to aim it at your surveillance target.

CAUTION: Avoid touching the camera lens.

15. Remove the adjustor tool.

16. Tighten the pan lock screw.

17. Use the OSD menu system to customize the settings for your camera. See OSD Menu System

below.

18. Reinstall the camera cover.

OSD Menu System

1. Locate the OSD joystick on base assembly.

The OSD joystick is used to open the OSD menu and navigate through the menus. To open the

camera menus and select a menu option, press the joystick down (in toward the base assembly).

To navigate the menus, rock the joystick up (

p, U) or down (q, D) to move through the parameter

list menus vertically, rock the joystick left (

t, L) or right (u, R) to change the parameter value

that appears for the parameter. Press the joystick down (in toward the base assembly) to select the

parameter value shown. Changes made to the OSD setup must be saved to be retained. See NOTES

below.

2. Open the OSD menus by pressing the joystick in toward the base assembly. The OSD menu tree is

shown below.

3. Navigate through the menu OSD menus as adjust the camera function as needed.

Notes on the OSD:

After making changes to the parameters in the OSD menu, they must be SAVED to retain them after closing

the menu. See the SAVE & EXIT submenu below.

• EXPOSURE submenu:

— Lens: Select FIX or IRIS

— AGC: Select HIGH, MIDDLE, LOW or OFF for the best performance.

— DWDR: Select HIGH, MIDDLE, LOW or OFF for the best dynamic range performance.

• WB (White Balance) submenu:

— Mode: Use AUTO 1 for environments where the color temperature is stable. Use AUTO 2 for

environments where the color temperature changes.

• DAY & NIGHT submenu:

— Mode: Select SMART, AUTIO, B/W, or COLOR. If SMART is selected, day and night mode switches

automatically.

— SET: Select ON (IR LED is on), or OFF.

• VIDEO SETUP submenu:

— BRIGHTNESS: Rock the joystick left or right to adjust the brightness of the video image.

— CONTRAST: Rock the joystick left or right to adjust the contrast of the video image.

— COLORGAIN: Rock the joystick left or right to adjust the color gain of the video image.

— SHARPNESS: Rock the joystick left or right to adjust the sharpness of the video image

— NR: Rock the joystick left or right to set the noise reduction to HIGH, MIDDLE, DEFAULT, or LOW.

— MIRROR: Rock the joystick left or right to set the mirror eect (reection) to HV (horizontal and

vertical reection), H (horizontal reection), or V (vertical reection).

— LANGUAGE: Select ENGLISH or CHINESE.

• SYSTEM SETUP submenu:

— OSD COLOR: Rock the joystick left or right to select either RED, WHITE or YELLOW.

— OSD BG: Rock the joystick left or right to select either background ON or OFF.

• FUNCTION SETUP submenu:

— MOTION: Rock the joystick left or right to select the motion detection area (1 .. 5).

— ALARM: Rock the joystick left or right to select either alarm ON or OFF. When ON, the motion

detection area ickers when motion is sensed in that area.

• RESET submenu:

— RESET: Select RESET to set the camera to it’s factory default conguration.

• SAVE & EXIT submenu:

— SAVE & EXIT: Select SAVE & EXIT to save your settings and close the OSD menu system.

Cleaning

Clean the camera dome with an approved glass cleaning solution and a lint free cloth.

• Dust can be removed from the unit by wiping it with a soft damp cloth. To remove stains, gently rub

the surface with a soft cloth moistened with a mild detergent solution, then rinse and dry it with a

soft cloth.

• Remove all foreign particles, such as plastic or rubber materials, attached to the camera housing.

These may cause damage to the surface over time.

CAUTION



Do not use benzene, thinner or other chemical products on the camera assembly; these may

dissolve the paint and promote damage of the surfaces. Before using any chemical product,

carefully follow the accompanying instructions.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause

Nothing appears on the screen - Check the power connection.

- Check the video signal cable connection to the monitor.

The video image is dim or not clear. - If the camera lens is dirty, clean it with a soft, clean cloth.

- Adjust the monitor controls, if necessary.

- If the camera is facing a very strong light, change the camera position.

- Adjust the lens focus.

The screen is dark. - Adjust the contrast control of the monitor.

- If you have an intermediate device, set the impedance (75 Ω /Hi-Z)

properly, and check the cable connections.

The camera is not working properly and the

surface of the camera is hot.

- Verify that the camera is correctly connected to an appropriate regulated

power source.

The image on the monitor ickers - Make sure that the camera isn’t facing direct sunlight or uorescent light.

If necessary,change the camera position.
