User manual for “code” confi gured CAME units and printers. Before continuing, read the technical sheets and ensure
installation is by the book.
Components 2.
Units 2.1
PSU2000 2.1.1
Standalone unit, with integrated omni-directional scanner and VFD display, with serial interface for the communica-
tion with a PC.
PSE20002.1.2
Entry unit with on-board printer to issue barcode tickets. The printer automatically generates a CAME barcode with
a default validity of 10 minutes. If necessary, connect a PC directly to the PSE2000 and use the optional CAME Ad-
minTool to customise the ticket.
PSE20012.1.3
Entry unit with on-board printer to issue / read barcode tickets. The printer automatically generates a CAME barcode
with a default validity of 10 minutes. If necessary, connect a PC directly to the PSE2000 and use the optional CAME
AdminTool to customise the ticket.
Ticket generation2.2
Desktop Printer 2.2.1
Desktop barcode printer for thermal paper. The Printer comes with 2 push buttons generating single tickets with dif-
ferent access rights:
Right button: generates by default a single use ticket valid for 30 minutes.
Left button: generates by default multiple use tickets valid till the end of the day.
Note: the printer does not require confi guration.
The ‘AdminTool’ optional confi guration software lets you customise the access
rights and ticket layout.
Kiosk Printer 2.2.2
Barcode printer on thermal paper for outside use. The Kiosk Printer is generally installed at the entrance of a car
park. By default the Kiosk Printer generates tickets with a validity of 10 minutes. Use the optional CAME AdminTool
software for customising the default validity and/or the ticket layout.
Virtual Printer 2.2.3
Generating pdf barcodes to email to users (in PDF format). See the “Virtual Printer” manual for more information.

Connections3.
Power supply and magnetic loops3.1
To power up the PS2000 units, connect the line cables to the terminals labelled A.
The magnetic loops, when in presence-detecting mode, on terminals labelled B (can be deactivated with the com-
mand cards).
Assemblying the roof3.2
For transporting, the roof on each unit is supplied un-assembled.
To assemble, insert the roof into the slots (A) and, after opening the door, fasten it using the bolts (B).

Command cards4.
Each PSU2000 comes with a series of command cards. Simply scanning these cards to the PSU2000 allows easy
and fast confi guration.
XYZ 123 Scanner masterkey: is the scanner ID code. It is to be scanned
prior to each confi guration modifi cation you want to program.
ZYX 321 Printer Identity: represents the printer’s identity.
Link printer
Link printer: is used to virtually link a printer to a PSU2000.
Unlink printer Unlink printer: is used to virtually unlink a printer to a
PSU2000.
Permanent closed Permanent closed: is used to permanently close an access
until a new command is given.
Free access Free access: is used to permanently open an access-way until
a new command is given.
Direction: exit Direction: Exit: is used to program the PSU2000 in “Exit
mode” thus allowing coherent messages to appear on the VFD
display.
Direction: entrance Direction: Entrance: is used to program the PSU2000 in “En-
try mode” thus allowing coherent messages to appear on the
VFD display.
Set language Set language: is used to confi gure the languages in which the
messages will appear on the VFD display.

WET Scan the Timezone card specifi c for your Country, after you
scanned “Set timezone”.
Restore factory default

Restore factory defaults: is used to do a reset of the
PSU2000.
Add permanent card Add permanent card: is used to add a barcode card with per-
manent access rights.
Remove permanent card Remove permanent card: is used to remove a permanent
card from the PSU2000’s memory.
Ground loop Ground loop: is used to activate or deactivate the ground loop
detection.
Kiosk Identity Kiosk identity: A PSE2000 and PSE2001 comes with Kiosk
Printer identity card. This card will be used to virtually link the
Kiosk Printer to a CAME scanner (PSU2000).
Clear ticket memory Clear ticket memory: is used to delete all events from the
memory of the unit.
Open barrier
Open barrier: is used to open the barrier.
Reboot
Reboot: is used to reboot the unit.
Status display Status display: is used to display the unit’s status on the VFD
display.
Set time Set time: is used when synchronizing the time of a printer with
a unit.

Operation5.
Desktop Printer: operation and configuration5.1
The Desktop Printer does not require any confi guration and is thus immediately operational.
Paper requirements:
POS direct thermal paper: 79.5mm +/- 0.5mm
Max roll diameter: 83mm
Paper thickness: 53~60g/m²
Replace the roll of paper5.1.1
To replace the roll of paper, make sure to load it in the right direction as shown in the photograph, otherwise the
tickets will be printed blank.
Print parking tickets with the desktop printer5.1.2
The desktop printer comes with two push buttons allowing printing barcodes with default validity.
Big right button: generates by default single use tickets valid for 30 minutes.
Small left button: generates by default multiple use tickets valid until the end of the day.
The default validity of the two push buttons can be changed using the AdminTool.
When using limited use tickets with a validity of more than 24h, the feature ‘Ticket
memory size’ must be adapted using the confi guration software AdminTool!!

Print a timestamp ticket with the desktop printer (Admin mode)5.1.3
Power the printer o .
Set the printer in Adminmode by simultaneously pressing one of the push buttons and powering on the
printer (keep push button pressed until the printer switches on).
After some seconds, release the button. The printer is now in Admin mode. No access control barcodes can
be printed anymore.
Now push the two buttons simultaneously until the printer starts to print a “Timestamp” ticket.
To return from the Admin mode to normal working mode, switch o the printer for a few seconds, then switch
it back on.
Print statistics with the desktop printer (Admin mode)5.1.4
The desktop printer allows you to print statistics showing the number of tickets generated with the left and right push
button since the last statistics generation.
Switch o the printer
Set the printer in Admin mode by powering it up and simultaneously pressing one of the buttons (keep button
pressed until the printer switches on).
After some seconds release the button. The printer is in Admin mode and cannot print access control bar-
codes.
Press the small left button until the ticket history log is printed out.
To return to normal working mode, switch o the printer for a few seconds and then turn it back on.
Printing a Printer Identity ticket with the desktop printer (in Admin mode)5.1.5
Power the printer o
Set the printer in Admin mode by powering it up and simultaneously pressing one of the buttons (keep button
pressed until the printer switches on).
After some seconds release the button. The printer is in Admin mode and cannot print access control bar-
codes.
Press the right-hand button (large) until the printer starts printing a “Printer Identity” ticket.

Kiosk Printer operation and configuration5.2
A Kiosk Printer (= thermal paper printer for outside use) can only operate when connected in serial to the CAME con-
trol units PSE2000 or PSU2001.
Sequence of events5.2.1
The ticket printing will be triggered by a button and/or a car detection loop, wired to inputs on the unit.
It prints a ticket on the Kiosk Printer via the serial port.
When the ticket is actually taken, it will open the relay.
Print sync time, printer ID and statistics5.2.2
With PSE2000: to allow time synchronization without using the AdminTool, print a sync time ticket using the recover
button on the back of the pcb unit. Use with care!
Open the cabinet by unscrewing the 4 front screws.
At the back, you’ll fi nd a little smb push-button labeled ‘recover.
Push this button until a “Printer ID, Timestamp and Statistics’ ticket comes out.
With PSE2001: use the AdminTool to get the same result.
Paper requirements:
Thermal paper: 79,5mm +/- 0,5mm
Max roll diameter: 200mm
Paper thickness: 80 g/m² (car parks with a minimum of 100 tickets per day) or 100g/m² (car parks with less
than 100 tickets per day).
Only use CAME paper rolls labelled “DAS”. If not so, warranty does not apply and
CAME does not guarantee proper functioning.
Replacing the paper5.2.3

2 - Raise the printer support, and
place it in the maintenance posi-
tion (see detail).
Remove the empty roll-core.
3 - Remove the roll stopper from the axis by acting on the green latch to fi t a fresh roll.
Replace the roll assembly into its housing. Watch out for the turning direction (see illustration) otherwise the tickets
won’t be printed!
Slide the paper-end through the slot: the printer will convey it automatically.

Paper stoppages and printer-head cleaning 5.2.4
4 - Lower the printer support and fasten it shut with the four screws! Make sure you have properly positioned the
ticket-feeder lip!
If paper gets stuck release the stoppage by acting on
the lever shown.
To clean the printer-heads, unscrew where shown: The
printing unit turns for easier access.

Configuration6.
Confi guring the units can be done without using confi guration software. Scan barcode command cards and read the
relevant messages appearing on the display so you know where you are in the confi guration procedure.
When powering on the unit, the VFD display shows the serial number of the unit during a few seconds:

How to virtually link a printer to a PSU20006.1
Each CAME unit and printer comes with a “Scanner masterkey” or “Kiosk iden-
tity” card. This is a unique barcode card necessary for a softwareless confi gura-
tion.
Barcode tickets will not be interpreted unless the printer(s) and PSU2000(s) involved are virtually linked.
Scan the card “Scanner masterkey” to the PSU2000 until the message ‘Please scan: Command card’ ap-
pears.
XYZ 123
Scan the card “Link printer” until the message ‘Please scan: Printer identity’ appears.
Link printer
Then scan the card “Printer identity” of the printer you want to link virtually to the PSU2000. The message
‘Printer linked’ appears.
ZYX 321
Repeat this procedure for each printer that has to be linked.
To virtually unlink a printer, repeat the above-mentioned procedures and replace the card “Link printer” by the card
“Unlink printer”.
The message “Ticket printed by another printer” appears when scanning a ticket
from a printed which was not virtually linked.

In this example, we want the messages to appear in English, French and German.

Activate and deactivate the ground detection loop 6.10
The ground loop detection is by default activated!
Scan “Scanner masterkey” card until the message ‘Please scan: Command card’ appears.

Repeat the same procedure to reactivate the ground loop. The message ‘Ground loop detection on’ ap-

When, in case of an activated ground loop detection, a valid ticket is
scanned without a vehicle being detected, the message “No car detected”
appears.
Synchronizing the time of a desktop printer with a PSU20006.11
Put the printer in Admin Mode by pushing on one of the push buttons while powering the printer on.
After a few seconds, release the button. The printer is now in Admin mode. No access control barcodes can
be printed anymore.
Now push the two buttons simultaneously until the printer starts to print a “Timestamp” ticket. If you want to
change the internal time of the printer use CAME AdminTool. Please use the adequate manual to do so.

Printing parking tickets with the desktop printer6.12
The desktop printer comes with two push buttons allowing printing barcodes with default validity.
Left button (Multiple entry):
This ticket can be used multiple times until the end of the day

This ticket can only be used once within 30 minutes after it was printed.
Use the CAME AdminTool to customize the validity of the push buttons, to
add a logo and specifi c text to the ticket, …

In most of the Fatal error cases, electronics should be replaced. Please fi rst try rebooting or restoring default settings.
Then, if still necessary, contact your CAME supplier.
