1 General hints
• Only KERN KUP-adapters may be connected to the 15-pol-sub-
D-connection of the balance!
• Use the KUP adapter to transfer data from the device to a PC and
vice-versa.
1.1 Installation
1. Switch off the appliance
2. Plug in the interface adapter at the KUP connection
3. Switch on the appliance. The interface adapter is automatically recognized by
the appliance.
Communication parameters:
Communication parameters (baud rate, bits and parity) of balance and printer / PC
must match.

USB driver:
The USB driver required for the scale is already pre-installed on devices with an up-
to-date operating system.
If the system is not recognized automatically, you can obtain the correct driver from
the Downloads area at www.kern-sohn.com.
It will be recognized as a virtual COM port and will be assigned a corresponding
numbered connection.
