1 Overview
The purpose of this document is to provide clear instructions on how to install and use
SSD7110 Controller on Windows system.
2 Installing Windows on SSD7110 controller
If you would like to install Windows onto drives attached to SSD7110 controller, please
perform the following operations:
Step 1 Prepare Your Hardware for Installation
After you attach your NVMe SSD to SSD7110 controller, you can use SSD7110 UEFI Utility to
configure your NVMe SSD as RAID arrays, or just use them as single disks.
Before installation, you must remove all the disk drives, which are not physically attached to
SSD7110 controller, from your system.
Note
SSD7110 only support UEFI boot .If you have other SCSI adapters installed, you must make sure
the SSD7110 controller UEFI will be loaded firstly. If not, try to move it to another PCI slot.
Otherwise you may be unable to boot up your system.
Step 2 Check System UEFI Settings
Set UEFI setting with SuperMicro X11DAi-N motherboard as an example.
a. Set "Boot Mode Select" to "UEFI";
b. And "Advanced->PCIe/PCI/PnP Configuration->CPU Slot PCI-E OPROM" to "EFI".Suppose

SSD7110 is connected to motherboard CPU1 Slot 1 PCI-E X16,then you should set "CPU1
Slot 1 PCI-E X16 OPROM" to "EFI";
c. Disable "Secure Boot", set "Attempt Secure Boot" to "Disabled".
Step 3 Flash UEFI Rom to SSD7110
a. Unzip SSD7110 UEFI package to root dir(/) of a USB flash driver,and insert the USB flash
drive to the motherboard;
b. Booting from the UEFI USB flash and enter the UEFI environment ;
c. Command with “SSD711x.nsh, flash UEFI rom to SSD7110 Controller and reboot.

Step 4 Create Array
a. Attach three NVMe SSD to SSD7110 Controller ;
Note
Make sure your USB flash partition format is NTFS or FAT32.
b. Boot, in the presence of the motherboard Log screen, there will be NVMe SSD
information
c. Enter the motherboard’s Boot List and select start from UEFI USB flash:
d. Command ”mode”, ”mode 160 53” to change the resolution:

e. Command ”Arraycreate.efito enter the Utility:
f. Command ”create RAID0 ”.
Create RAID0 array with all disks and with maximum capacity.
g. Command “exit”
h. For more command usages, refer to Appendix A.
Step 5 Install Windows
a. Put the Windows install DVD in your CD-ROM and then reboot your sysytem;
b. Boot, view RAID information that appears on the motherboard Logo screen:

c. Enter Boot list, select start from UEFI DVD:
d. Install Windows, to “Where do you want to install Windows?”, you can see three Legacy
disk:
e. Click “Loader driver”in the pup-up window, click “Cancel”:

f. Uncheck "Hide drivers that aren't compatible with this computer's hardware":
g. Then plug the USB flash with the driver file onto the USB interface of the motherboard, click
“Browse”, select the driver file:

h. After load the driver, back to “Where do you want to install Windows?interface, the three
Legacy disk have become RAID partitions. For windows server, it will prompt “Windows
Can’t be installed on this driver.”,you should click this point and click OK.
i. After partitioning, continue installing and complete the installation of the Windows.
j. After the Windows is installed,please get into Windows and turn off Hibernation.
Hibernation fails when the system is installed on a NVMe RAID, this bug will affet fast
startup and sleep.Please use administrator privileges to turn off hibernation with the
following command in cmd:
#powercfg /h off
