Installation Instructions
PLUG-IN HARNESS INSTALLATION
Follow the Isolation Module installation instructions
included with the harness kit until directed to use
these adapter kit instructions.
NOTE: For vehicles using the 8436 4-Port Harness
Kit, both plug-in harnesses must be con gured
for HB-5 headlamps (9007).
PLUG-IN ADAPTER INSTALLATION
Removal of the vehicle grille and turn signal lamp
housings will be necessary.
Grille Removal
1. Remove the screw in the front of the grille just
below the Mitsubishi emblem.
2. The grille is held in place by plastic push-in tabs.
Starting at one side and working toward the other,
gently pull the grille outward, freeing the plastic
tabs and separating the grille from the vehicle.
Turn Signal Lamp Housing Removal
1. On one side of the vehicle, open the door and
locate the turn signal bulb socket. Twist and
remove the socket and bulb.
2. Locate the two mounting
screws securing the
turn signal lamp housing
(one above and one
below the bulb socket).
Loosen both screws until
they spin freely. You do
not need to completely
remove the screws.
3. Close the door taking care not to damage the turn
signal bulb or socket.
4. Remove the turn signal lamp housing by carefully
sliding it to the outside, away from the grille.
5. Repeat on the opposite side of the vehicle.
Turn Signal Taps
1. Splice the purple wire (8436 4-Port Harness Kit)
or wire marked "TURN" (29050/B29050 Harness
Kit) from the plug-in harness into the vehicle turn
signal wire following the recommended splicing
procedure found in the harness kit instructions.
Trimming the turn signal harness covering may be
necessary.
2. Repeat on the opposite side of the vehicle.
Loosen

screws.

Plug-In Adapters
1. Locate the vehicle headlamp housing connector
on one side of the vehicle (top center of the
housing).
2. While pressing the connector release tab, gently
pull outward to remove the connector.
3. Plug the female end of the adapter into the vehicle
headlamp housing.
NOTE: The adapter with the brown park wire
must be connected to the short plug-in harness
(8436 4-Port Harness Kit) or the plug-in harness
connector with the wire marked "PARK"
(29050/B29050 Harness Kit).
4. Plug the male end of the adapter into the female
connector removed from the headlamp housing.
5. Route the adapter toward the center of the vehicle
and connect to the plug-in harness.
6. Repeat Steps 1–5 on the opposite side of the
vehicle.
7. Splice the brown adapter wire to the brown wire
(8436 4-Port Harness Kit) or wire marked "PARK"
(29050/B29050 Harness Kit) on the plug-in
harness following the recommended splicing
procedure.
NOTE: Only one wire from the plug-in harness(es)
connects to the vehicle parking light circuit.
8. Tuck the adapters on top of the headlamp
housings and cable tie to the vehicle harnesses as
needed.
9. Reinstall the turn signal housing and grille.
