2.3.6 Wire ballast and line leads accordingly. Connect incoming
ground wire to ground wire attached to inside of wiring chamber.
Connect incoming common wire to wire marked "COM" from ballast.
(On 35W high pressure sodium and 200W incandescent units,
connect to white wire.) Connect incoming line lead to the black lead
from the photocontrol receptacle electrical connector. Verify the red
lead from the photocontrol receptacle electrical connector is
connected to the correct voltage lead from the ballast. See Figure 4.
Carefully, place connections in wiring chamber for future access.
See Figure 1.
2.3.7 Replace wire way cover. Tighten screw.
2.3.8 Gently move ballast plate assembly to an upright position and
place the assembly over the two keyway screws and rotate into
position. Tighten screws.
OPTICS ORIENTATION NOTES
Some of the fixtures in this series are equipped with optical
components that produce distributions of light that are not symmetric
and are intended to be aimed by orienting the prismatic glass
refractor a specific direction. The “Street Side” marking on the top of
the refractor should be pointed toward the street.
2.3.9 Replace the refractor. Orient the refractor by locating the
markings on the refractor flange. Position the "street side" marking
toward the street and align the "rib" markings with the ribs of the
castings.
2.3.10 Place photocontrol wires into wire support. Reconnect
electrical connector. See Figure 3.
2.3.11 Install correct wattage and type lamp. Close top cover and
reengage latch.
2.3.12 Remove plastic cap from top of luminaire.
2.3.13 Loosen two screws on photocontrol receptacle. Rotate the
receptacle to point the arrow marked "N" in a direction that is
generally North but not pointing directly toward a nearby luminaire.
Tighten screws.
2.3.14 Install a twist-lock type photocontrol into the receptacle.
2.3.15 Energize the luminaire. Check for proper operation.

3. MAINTENANCE
3.1 Relamping and Cleaning.
3.1.1 Wipe off exterior dirt and debris.
3.1.2 Disengage latch and open top cover. Refer to Figure 1.
3.1.3 Remove lamp.
3.1.4 For photocontrol luminaire, disconnect electrical connector
and remove photocontrol wires from wire support. See Figure 3.
3.1.5 Remove refractor.
3.1.6 Wipe the refractor interior with a clean dry cloth.
3.1.7 Replace cleaned refractor. Orient the refractor by locating
the markings on the refractor flange. Position the "street side"
marking toward the street and align the "rib" markings with the ribs of
the castings.
3.1.8 For photocontrol luminaire, place photocontrol wires into wire
support and reconnect electrical connector. See Figure 3.
3.1.9 Install new lamp of correct wattage and type.
3.1.10 Close top cover and engage latch.
3.1.11 Energize the luminaire. Check for proper operation.
3.2 Electrical Component Replacement Luminaire
without Photocontrol.
3.2.1 Disengage latch and open top cover. Refer to Figure 1.
3.2.2 Remove the lamp.
3.2.3 Remove refractor.
3.2.4 Loosen the two keyway screws and turn ballast plate
assembly clockwise to disengage. Rotate ballast plate assembly 90
degrees and gently lay the socket between two ribs opposite the
hinge. See Figure 2.
3.2.5 Loosen screw to wireway cover and remove wireway cover.
3.2.6 Tag and disconnect common and line leads.
3.2.7 Place the ballast plate assembly to an upright position and
remove.
3.2.8 Unpack replacement ballast assembly. Check voltage leads.
3.2.9 Set replacement ballast assembly down into casting. Orient
with capacitor located on side of casting marked "capacitor." Rotate
ballast plate assembly 90 degrees and gently lay the socket between
two ribs opposite the hinge. See Figure 2. Reconnect electrical
connections in accordance with tags and approved wiring practices.
3.2.10 Replace wireway cover. Tighten screw.
3.2.11 Gently move ballast plate assembly to an upright position
and place the assembly over the two keyway screws and turn
counterclockwise into position. Tighten screws.
3.2.12 Replace the refractor. Orient the refractor by locating the
markings on the refractor flange. Position the "street side" marking
toward the street and align the "rib" markings with the ribs of the
castings.
3.2.13 Replace correct wattage and type lamp.
3.2.14 Close top cover and engage latch.
3.2.15 Energize the luminaire. Check for proper operation.
3.3 Electrical Component Replacement for
Luminaire with Photocontrol.
3.3.1 Disengage latch and open top cover. Refer to Figure 1.
3.3.2 Remove the lamp.
3.3.3 Disconnect electrical connector and remove photocontrol
wires from wire support. See Figure 3.
3.3.4 Remove refractor. Loosen the two keyway screws and turn
ballast plate assembly clockwise to disengage. Rotate ballast plate
assembly 90 degrees and gently lay the socket between two ribs
opposite the hinge. See Figure 2.
3.3.5 Loosen screw to wireway cover and remove wireway cover.
3.3.6 Tag and disconnect common and line leads.
