HowToGetHelp
Before contacting our Technical Support Department, make sure that you have read this entire manual as
well as any other accompanying manuals included with your laser system.
Step1:
Trytorecreatetheproblemandwritedownthecircumstancesinwhichtheproblemoccurred.Tryto
recalliftheproblembeganallofasudden,worsenedovertime,orbeganafteryouperformedany
recentmaintenance.Alsobepreparedtodescribeallpertinentinformationaboutthecomputerbeing
usedsuchasgraphicssoftware,VersaLASERControllersoftwareversion,computeroperatingsystem
andcomputertype,configuration,andaccessories.
Step2:
Make sure that you have the serial number available. The serial number tag is located on the back of the
machine, next to the exhaust port. It can also be found located in the ABOUT tab of the VersaLASER
Controller software. We may not be able to assist you without this number.

This device is designed for laser cutting and etching of the materials listed in the VersaLASER printer driver.
Materials to be processed must fit completely inside the system for proper operation. Use of the equipment in a
manner other than that described in this manual may result in injury to yourself and others and may cause severe
damage to the equipment and your facility.
Notice: This device is not designed, tested, intended or authorized for use in any medical applications,
surgical applications, medical device manufacturing, or any similar procedure or process requiring approval,
testing, or certification by the United States Food and Drug Administration or other similar governmental
entities. Please see the Notice herein for further information regarding such uses.
General Safety
Exposuretothelaserbeammaycausephysicalburnsandcancausesevereeyedamage.Proper
useandcareofthissystemareessentialtosafeoperation.
Neveroperatethelasersystemwithoutconstantsupervisionofthecuttingandetchingprocess.
Exposuretothelaserbeammaycauseignitionofcombustiblematerialsandstartafire.Aproperly
maintainedfireextinguishershouldbekeptonhandatalltimes.
Aproperlyconfigured,installed,maintained,andoperatingparticulate/fumeexhaustsystemis
mandatorywhenoperatingthelasersystem.Fumesandsmokefromtheetchingprocessmustbe
extractedfromthelasersystemandeitherfilteredthroughtheIntegratedExhaustFiltrationModule
(anoptionalaccessory)orexhaustedoutsidethroughausersuppliedexhaustsystem.
Somematerials,duringandafterlaserprocessing,mayproducetoxicfumes.Wesuggestthatyou
obtaintheMaterialSafetyDataSheet(MSDS)fromthematerialsmanufacturer.TheMSDSdiscloses
allofthehazardswhenhandlingorprocessingthatmaterial.Somematerialscontinueemitting
fumesforseveralminutesafterlaserprocessingandmayposeahealthhazard.Avoidusingthis
deviceinsmall,enclosed,ornonventilatedareas.
Somematerials,duringandafterlaserprocessing,mayproducecorrosivefumes.DISCONTINUE
processinganymaterialthatproducessignsofchemicaldeteriorationinthelasersystemsuchas
rust,metaletchingorpitting,peelingpaint,etc.Damagetothelasersystemfromcorrosive
materialsisNOTcoveredunderwarranty.
Careshouldbetakenwhenmovingorliftingthisdevice.Obtainassistancefrom1or2additional
peoplewhenliftingorcarrying(securemotionsystemandaccessdoor).Severebodilyinjurymay
occurifimproperliftingtechniquesareappliedorthesystemisdropped.
Dangerousvoltagesarepresentwithintheelectronicsandlaserenclosuresofthissystem.
Althoughaccesstotheseareasisnotnecessaryduringnormaluse,ifitbecomesnecessarytoopen
oneoftheseenclosuresforservicereasons,pleaseremembertodisconnectthepowercordfrom
