Anolis Ambiane RGBW is a high power LED lighting fixture capable of generating colored light to be used in both indoor and outdoor environments. Controlled via DMX, DALI or RDM, it gives the user the ability to change the colors and intensity of the light with high precision. Due to its long lifespan and low power consumption, it is ideal for use in settings where energy efficiency and longevity are important, such as museums, galleries, retail spaces, and architectural lighting.

Ambiane RGBW

The unit generates colored light by means of high power LEDs. The product was designed for indoor use only.

1. Attention

 Theunitmustbeinstalledbyaqualiedelectricianinaccordancewithall

national and local electrical and construction codes and regulations.

The unit was designed for indoor use only.

Avoid looking directly into the LED light beam at close range!

 Donotinstalltheunitnearhighlyinammableliquidsormaterials.

Do not allow anything to rest on the unit.

 Donotinstalltheunitnearanopename.

Do not install the unit in dirty,dusty or badly ventilated location.

 Sucientairaccessingtothehousingoftheunithastobeensured,

there must not be any heat or anti-noise insulation within a 0.6m x 0.6m

 areaaroundtheunit(non-ICratedxture).

Resistance of the equipment is designed for electromagnetic environments E1, E2, E3

according to the standard EN55103-2 ed.2 Electromagnetic compatibility. Product family

standard for audio, video, audiovisual and entertainment lighting control apparatus for

professional use. Part 2: Immunity.

The installation company should check levels of possible interferences above the tested levels

 E1,E2,E3givenbythisstandard(e.g.transmittersinsurroundingarea)beforeinstallingtheequipment.

Emission of the equipment complies with the standard EN55032 Electromagnetic compatibility

of multimedia equipment – Emission Requirements according to class B.

2. Installation

1.Prepareacircularopeninginthelowerceiling(1)asshowninthepicturebelow.

2.InserttheAmbianeunitintotheopening.Fastenthexturebymeansoftwospringfasteners(2)totheopening

Toconnectneededcablestothexture,unscrewtwoscrews(4)fromtheplasticcover(3)andchipneeded

plasticthin-walledcovers(6)oinordertopasscablestotheconnectionblocks(5).

Theconnectionblocks(5)havethefollowingwiring:

Theprimarypowerinputservesforastandardpower(e.g.ArcPowerforAmbiane).

Thesecondarypowerinputservesforabackuppower(incasethatprimarypowerfailed).

If both power inputs are under voltage, the primary power has a priority and the secondary power is disabled.

In case of primary power loss, the secondary power is enabled.

Ifthextureissuppliedviathesecondarypower,thelightoutputofthextureisawhitecolour(3200K)andits

light intensity can be set by a trimmer.

Thexturecanbecontrolledbyoneofthefollowingmethods:DMX512

DALI

ThextureisequippedwithtwoDMXandDALIconnectionblocksforeasyconnectiontoDMXorDALIchain

(In/Outmethod).

3. DMX and DALI address setting and control

TheDIPswitch,locatednexttotheconnectionblocks,allowsyou,runatestlightandswitchthexturetothe

update mode in case of software update.

DIP10-ifswitchedtoON=testlight(thexturelightsat3200K)

DIP11-hastobeswitchedtoOFFpositiontoreceiveDMX512orDALI

DIP12-changefromOFFtoONpositionswitchesthexturetotheupdatemode(switchingtotheupdate

modeisnotnecessaryIftheRobeUploaderisusedforxtureupdate).

DMX control

TheDMXstartaddress,istherstchannelusedtoreceiveinstructionsfromtheDMXcontroller.Theaddress

maybeanychannelfrom1to509.DMXaddresscanbeseteitherbyDIPswitchorbyRDM.DMXaddress

setbyRDMoverwritesaddresssetbyDIPswitchandviceversa.ThegreenLEDonPCBsignalswayofDMX

address setting:

 LEDlights-DMXaddressissetbymeansoftheDIPswitch.

 LEDdoesnotlight-DMXaddressissetbymeansofRDM.

DIP 11 has to be set in OFF position.

ExampleofDMXaddresses:

DALI control

AddressingofthextureismadebymeansofanexternalDALIcontroller.TheexternalDALIcontrollerhasto

sendactivatingcommand(8=ON)ifyouneedtostartthepermanentcontrolofthexture(xturewillnotrespond

toDMXcommands)anddeactivatingcommand(0=OFF)tostopcontrolofthexture.

DIP 11 has to be set in OFF position.

Note:IfDIP11=OFF(xtureiscontrolledbyDMXorDALI),therstcomingcommandswitchesthexturetothe

correspondingoperationmode(DMXoperationbyaDMXcommand,DALIoperationbyaDALIcommand).E.g.

thexturestaysinaDALIoperationandcomingDMXcommandswitchesthexturetoDMXoperation.Next

commandisaDALIcommandandswitchesthexturetotheDALIoperationetc.Ifyouneedthepermanent

DALIoperation,youhavetosendaDALIcommand8tothexture.

4. RDM

ThisxturesupportsRDMoperation.RDM(RemoteDeviceManagement)isabi-directionalcommunication

protocolforuseinDMX512controlsystems,itisthenewopenstandardforDMX512devicecongurationand

status monitoring.

RDMallowsyoutosetaDMXaddress,selectDMXmodeandreadoutsoftwareversionofthexture.

5. Anti-glare ring installation

Inserttheanti-glarering(1)intothextureuntilthreelocks(2)snapintoslots(3).

6. Adapter ring installation

1.Removebothspringfasteners(2)byunscrewingthefourscrewsM4x10(1).

2.Slidetheadapterring(4)ontothehousingofthexture.Screwthenewfasteners(3)onthehousing.

UseoriginalscrewsM4x10(1).

2.SwitchthextureoanddisconnectthexturefromDMXcontroller(IfyouuseDALIcontrol,switcho

theDALIcontroller).

3.IfyouusetheashcableRS232/DMX,connectaserialportofyourcomputerwithDMXinputofthexture

by means of this cable (probably you will need some USB to RS 232 converter if your computer has

USBportsonly).

If you use the Robe Universal Interface, connect a USB port of your computer with the Robe Universal Interface

bymeansoftheUSBcableandDMXinputofthexturewiththeDMXoutputoftheRobeUniversalInterface

viaaDMXcable.

4.Switchthextureonandswitchittotheupdatemode(svitchthe

DIP12fromOFFtoONposition)

We recommend to cancel all running programs on your computer before starting the software uploader.

5.Double-clickthesoftwareuploaderle(e.g.DSU_Ambiane_18051040.exe)in

theextractedles.TheSoftwareUploaderprogramwillstartrunning.

6.Selectcorrect"COM"numberifyouusea

FlashcableRS232/DMX

or select "

Robe Universal Interface "

if you use the

RobeUniversalInterface/RobeUniversalInterfaceWTX

and then click on the "Connect" button.

7.IftheconnectionisOK,clickthe“StartUploading"buttontostartsoftwareuploading.Itwilltakeseveral

minutes to perform software update.

If the option "Incremental Update" is not checked, all processors will be updated (including processors with

thesamesoftwareversion).

Ifyouwishtoupdateonlyprocessorswithnewversionofsoftware,checkthe“IncrementalUpdate

box“.

Avoid interrupting the process. Update status is being displayed in the "Info Box" window.

Whentheupdateisnished,thelinewiththetext“Fixtureissuccessfullyupdated“willappearin

this window.

8.SwitchthextureoandsettheDIP12toOFFposition.

Incaseuploadprocessisinterrupted(e.g.powerloss),thexturestaysin“Updatingmode”andyouwillhave

to repeat the software update again.

Software update by means of the Robe Uploader

Anotherway,howtoupdatesoftwareinthextures(especiallylargeinstallationofxtures)istousetheROBE

Uploader.ItisasoftwareforautomatizedsoftwareupdateofRobeandAnolisxtures.Itcantakeadvantageof

RDMsupportandEthernetportsifpresentintheunits.

Thextureshastobeconnectedinadaisy-chain(max.32xtures)andvia

the

Robe Universal Interface/Robe

UniversalInterfaceWTX

and a USB cable connected to the control PC with the Robe Uploader running.

The control PC should be connected to the Internet.

Note:

IfyoudothesoftwareupdatebymeansoftheRobeUploader,switchingxturestotheupdatemode(andfrom

theupdatemode)ismadeautomatically,withoutneedtoswitchtheDIP12toONposition.

TheRobeUploadersoftwarecannotbeusedifxturesareconnectedbymeansofDALIconnection.
