• Donotuseforpumpingammableliquids.
Pump may only be installed in an upright position.
Pump may only be used on roofed surfaces or in roofed and
closed rooms.
The pump may only be used to pump the agreed liquids
( Contract data sheet) or ensure that the pump is resistant to
the liquid being pumped ( technical data, Lutzresistance
table).
Note the limit values for temperature and viscosity of the liquid
being pumped ( technical data).
The drive motor must be located outside of the mobile container
or drum ( Fig. 1).
The pump may only be operated with the discharge closed, if a
bypass valve with return line has been installed.
Ensure that the safety valves for the protection of the pump
against inadmissible increase of pressure are not higher set than
the maximum operating pressure ( technical data).
The pump is not allowed to run dry. This must be permanently
controlled by the operator.
If the product and supplied accessories are used for other purposes than the intended purpose, it is the

2.2.2 Prevention of obvious misapplication (examples)
Observe and comply with the operating limits of the pump in terms of temperature, pressure,
delivery rate and speed ( contract data sheet, technical data).
The power consumption of the pump increases with increasing viscosity of the pumped liquid.
With the type HD-SR Niro 41-E-GLRD the speed increases with decreasing viscosity. Observe the
permissible viscosity range( technical data) to avoid overloading the pump, gear, coupling and
motor.
Do not use the pump tube to lift objects.

5.4 Connection of compressed air motors with
HD-SR SS 41-E-MS
The required air pressure depends on the viscosity of the pumped
liquid. Higher viscosity requires higher air pressure.
For the motors MD1xL and MD2xL, an air pressure of at least 1 bar and
an air consumption of 300 Nl/min are required with water.
5.5 Mechanical loads on the pump tube
The pump tube’s functioning and service life are impaired when
deformed by mechanical loads. For this reason, the outlet must not
be subjected to compressive or tensile forces.
The bending moment MB at the outlet must not exceed 30 Nm
( Fig. 5).

5.6 Maximum immersion depth
Make sure that the pump is not submerged further than its
discharge port ( Fig. 6).
5.7 Assembly in the container
Fasten the pump in the container. Make sure that the container with the installed pump is enough stable
even in empty condition. This is of special attention with small containers.
6. Operation

6.1 Dry running
The pump is said to run dry if it continues to operate without pumping any liquid whatsoever. Dry
running must be avoided. This can be ensured by remaining in attendance or with the aid of such
technicalmeansasaowmonitor,etc.
6.2 Suction funnel
At least the suction openings must be completely covered with the medium in order to prevent the
inltrationofairwhilepumping.Whenpumpinghighlyviscousproducts,caremustalsobetakento
prevent the formation of suction funnels.
6.3 Operation with closed discharge
! WARNING
Injury by ying parts!
