About This Component
The AD168 Power Supply Module (PSM) is an on-board
switching power supply that converts 90-240 volt (47-63Hz)
AC input power to ±8 volt DC power for internal use by all
system modules.
The PSM is shipped with a detachable AC input line cord
appropriate for the national and local electrical requirements
of the operating location.
NOTES:
The PSM resides in slot R of the AD168 bay.
The front and rear sections of the PSM are identified
with a RED color code dot.
A factory-set shorting jumper is used to determine
whether the PSM is used in single or dual bay
applications. The replacement PSM must use the
same jumper settings as are observed on the module
being replaced.
Avoid static discharge by using proper grounding
methods before handling circuit cards.
The AC line cord should be connected to the PSM
only after all service work has been completed.
Receiving the Component
At the time that the AD168 system component is delivered,
verify that the shipment is complete.
Inspect the box and packing to ensure that there has been no
damage during shipment. If damage is found, notify the
shipping agency and contact your sales representative.
Unpack the component in a secure location and lay out the
individual parts in an orderly fashion.
This kit includes the PSM Replacement Instructions (this
document) and either of two PSM components:
AD168PSM-PC (PSM front module)
AD168PSM-BP (PSM rear panel)

PSM Rear Panel Replacement
1. Remove the top and bottom panel retaining screws and
remove the old rear panel from the bay.
2. Remove the new PSM rear panel from its wrapping.
3. Hold the rear panel by the connector strip with one hand
and support the attached circuit card from the bottom with
the other hand. Avoid touching circuit card components.
4. Begin to insert the rear panel by placing the lower end of
the card into slot R.
5. Verify that the top of the rear panel card is also aligned
with slot R
6. Gently push the rear panel until it stops.
7. Apply gentle, steady pressure to the center of the connector
strip until the rear panel moves into position.
8. Replace the screws that hold the rear panel to the chassis.
9. Connect all system devices to the rear panel.
10. Re-connect the primary power source to the new PSM and
