PSM Module Replacement
!
CAUTION!
Disconnect the primary power source from the
AD168 bay before starting any work.
1. Loosen the two front cover retaining screws and remove
the cover.
2. If this is a replacement, locate and remove the old Power
Supply Module (PSM).
3. Note the position of the jumper labeled J10.
4. Remove the new PSM from its wrapping.
5. Compare the J10 jumper settings to the old PSM. Adjust if
appropriate.
6. Hold the PSM by the isolation handle with one hand and
support it from the bottom with the other hand. Avoid
touching circuit card components.
7. Begin to insert the module by placing the lower end of the
card into slot R.
8. Verify that the top of the card is also aligned with slot R.
9. Gently push the module until it stops.
10. Apply gentle, steady pressure to the isolation handle until
the connector moves into position in its mating receptacle.
11. Replace the front cover when service is complete.
PSM Rear Panel Replacement
1. Remove the top and bottom panel retaining screws and
remove the old rear panel from the bay.
2. Remove the new PSM rear panel from its wrapping.
3. Hold the rear panel by the connector strip with one hand
and support the attached circuit card from the bottom with
the other hand. Avoid touching circuit card components.
4. Begin to insert the rear panel by placing the lower end of
the card into slot R.
5. Verify that the top of the rear panel card is also aligned
with slot R
6. Gently push the rear panel until it stops.
7. Apply gentle, steady pressure to the center of the connector
strip until the rear panel moves into position.
8. Replace the screws that hold the rear panel to the chassis.
9. Connect all system devices to the rear panel.
10. Re-connect the primary power source to the new PSM and
verify that the system is operating properly (if the UOP
LED does not flash after 1 minute, call Technical Support).
