The following advisory applies when using the bootable version of

The HX4600 User’s Guide may not be viewable when selected from the
HX4600 User’s Guide PDF icon located within the Documentation
Menu. To view the HX4600 User’s Guide PDF file, leave the
ExpressBuilder CD in your system CDROM drive and perform the
following steps:

If you do not have the Adobe™ Acrobat™ Reader v3.01
installed on your system, follow the How To Install Browsers
procedure on the ExpressBuilder CDROM and install the
Acrobat Reader.

Open Adobe Acrobat Reader and select your CDROM drive
Ebuilder directory.

The HX4600 User’s Guide PDF file (HX4600us.pdf) is located
in the \docs\HX4600\usergde\pdf subdirectory. Locate the
HX4600us.pdf file.

Double-click on HX4600us.pdf to open, view and print the
HX4600 User’s Guide.

The following advisory applies when using SCO OpenServer 5.05.

When using the SecuRAID 530 (Mylex™ AcceleRAID 1164P) RAID
Controller, the Symbios "slha" driver, version 40405, is required to allow
use of this RAID controller. This driver is available on the
E
XPRESS
B
UILDER
CDROM shipped with your system.
!
When this server is communicating with certain Legacy LAN cards over
a LAN Network, some performance degradation may occur.
!
When installing SMP, Maintenance Supplement 505A should be installed
immediately afterwards before rebooting to avoid a system hang at
"hd_config."
UnixWare 7.01
The following advisory applies when using SCO UnixWare 7.01.
!
The UnixWare 7.01 Symbios driver does not support IRQ sharing. To
ensure sharing does not occur, run the BIOS Setup Utility (F2) at bootup,
and specify all IRQs. Refer to Table 3-2, PCI IRQ Bus and Controller
Assignments in your User's Guide for information on IRQ assignments.
UnixWare 7.1
The following advisory applies when using SCO UnixWare 7.1:

If your system hard disk drive(s) are connected to the onboard Symbios
controller, the Symbios boot order must be checked to ensure the root
hard drive is connected to controller 0. Refer to Chapter 3 of the HX4600
User’s Guide for information on setting the Symbios controller boot
order. The HX4600 User’s Guide is located on the ExpressBuilder
CDROM that was shipped with your system.
