This section contains advisories on Windows NT, Novell NetWare, SCO
OpenServer, and UnixWare.
Windows NT
The following advisory applies when using Windows NT:
Windows NT version 3.51 is not supported.
Novell NetWare
The following advisory applies when using Novell NetWare 3.12:
When either the 3C905 or the PRO100+ LAN cards are installed in the
system, the latest versions of the ETHERTSM.NLM and MSM31X.NLM
support modules must be used. These files are located in the
LANDR9.EXE file available from the Novell web site. Additionally,
your operating system should include the latest available 312PTD.EXE
patch, also available from the Novell web site. Install the 312PTD.EXE
patch before installing LANDR9.EXE.

SCO OpenServer 5.04 and 5.05
The following advisories apply when using SCO OpenServer 5.04 and SCO
OpenServer 5.05:
Depending on the hardware complement in your system, you may require
some or all of the diskettes listed in the table below when installing SCO
OpenServer 5.05. They should be generated before attempting to install
the operating system. Refer to your Network Operating System
Configuration Guide, included on E

When using the Mylex™ AcceleRAID™ 250 or the AcceleRAID 1164P,
the Symbios "slha" driver, version 40405 is required to allow use of this
RAID controller. This driver is available from the Symbios web site.
Before installing the SCO OpenServer Operating System, the Symbios
boot order must be checked to ensure the root hard drive adapter is 0. To
do this, perform the following steps:
1.
Power down the system and remove the access cover. Refer to the
System User's Guide located on the E

CD-ROM for
information on removing the access cover.
2.
Refer to Figure 1 below and note whether your hard drives (C) are
cabled to system board connector A or connector B. System hard
drives are normally factory cabled to connector A as shown in
Figure 1.

If your hard drives are cabled to connector A (Figure 1), the adapter
designated DevFunc 18 (see table) is the root hard drive adapter and
should be set to boot order 0. If your hard drives are cabled to
connector B (Figure 1), the adapter designated DevFunc 19 (see
table) is the root hard drive adapter and should be set to boot order 0.
When the PRO100+ LAN card is installed in a system running the SCO
OpenServer Operating System, the root disk configuration information
maybe lost, causing startup problems. If this condition occurs, reboot the
system and press
F2
. To enter the BIOS Setup Utility. Then, press
F9
to
return BIOS Setup to the default values. Exit BIOS Setup, saving the
default values, and reboot the system.

UnixWare 7.01
The following advisory applies when using SCO UnixWare 7.01:
The UnixWare 7.01 Symbios driver does not support sharing IRQs.
The initial system boot after installing UnixWare 7.01 may cause your
system to fail. Power down the system and reboot.
The SecuRAID 530 (Mylex ExtremeRAID 1164P) requires the mdac

Chapter 3, Using the BIOS Setup Utility. In the last paragraph before
the Main Menu heading, replace the first sentence with the following
sentence:
The following BIOS Setup Configuration tables show the recommended
settings for the BIOS Setup Utility.
Chapter 3, Primary IDE Master and Slave Submenu. Delete the word
"IDE" from the "Primary IDE Master and Slave Submenu" heading.
Chapter 3, Main Menu Table.
In the Choices column that corresponds to the Legacy Diskette A:
feature, change "1.44 MB" to "1.44/1.25 MB.
In the Choices column that corresponds to the Legacy Diskette B:
feature, change "1.44 MB" to "1.44/1.25 MB.
In the Feature and Description columns, delete "Primary IDE
Master” and replace with "Primary Master".

In the Choices column that corresponds to the Enable Master feature,
change the recommended setting in bold from "Disabled" to
"Enabled".
Chapter 3, I/O Device Configuration Submenu.
In the Feature column, delete "COM 1:” and replace with "Serial
Port A:", delete "COM 2:" and replace with "Serial Port B:"
In the Choices column that corresponds to the Mode feature, change
the recommended setting in bold from "ECP" to "Bi-directional".
In the Choices column that corresponds to the Base I/O Address
feature directly under "278" add "3BC".
In the Feature column, directly under "DMA channel" add "(ECP
Mode Only).
