Allen-Bradley FactoryTalk Analytics for Devices is an analytical appliance that monitors the status of control devices on an EtherNet/IP network. It can detect EtherNet/IP devices automatically, analyze device data for display on device-specific dashboards, and perform system-level health and diagnostics.

The appliance is easy to set up and use. Simply connect it to your network and power it on. The appliance will automatically detect EtherNet/IP devices on the network and begin collecting data. You can then access the appliance's web interface to view data and configure settings.

FactoryTalk® Analytics for Devices is an analytical appliance that monitors the status of control devices on an

Set Up the Appliance
Connect the Appliance to a Computer
1. Connect the ETH1 port of the appliance directly to an Ethernet port on a computer.
You use the computer to configure the appliance.
2. Connect 24V DC power to the appliance.
Optional:
6200V-MPS4: 90 W, 24V AC-to-DC power adapter
6200V-DCCONN: DC power mating connector housing
Open the power connector to expose the screws so that you can insert the input wires.

IMPORTANT Do not press the power button. The appliance powers up when you connect the power cable.

Access a Browser to Configure the Appliance
The appliance works best with the current versions of these browsers:
Internet Explorer
Google Chrome
1. Change the IP address of the computer to be in the same range as the default IP address of the appliance.
For example, set the IP address of the computer to 192.168.100.20 and the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0.
a. From the Windows Control Panel or System Tray, choose Network and Sharing Center > Change adapter
settings.
b. Right-click the Local Area Connection that is connected to the appliance and select Properties.
c. Double-click the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) connection.
d. Choose Use the following address and enter the IP address and subnet mask.
e. Click OK to save the changes.
IMPORTANT The default IP address of the appliance is 192.168.100.1.

2. Open a web browser on the computer and go to: http://192.168.100.1
3. Click Get Started and follow the browser prompts to configure the appliance:
4. View and accept the end-user license agreements.
Setting Description
Appliance host name Define the network name of the appliance.
Date, time, and time zone Set the time stamp for any events the appliance detects in the target network.
Connectivity options Select system update and data synchronization options.
Appliance network options Define network settings for the appliance within the target network.
Important: We recommend that you set a static IP address for the appliance. A DHCP
configuration takes longer to propagate.
Security Define the administrator password and access the security certificate.

The final configuration screen displays a link to access the appliance web services.
5. To complete the configuration, click Finish and Shut Down.
The appliance shuts down.
6. When all status indicators stop flashing (the Power indicator changes from solid green to off ), disconnect the
power and network cables.
7. Follow the steps in the next section to connect the appliance to the target network.

As many as 6 workstations can simultaneously access the same appliance. The workstations do not require any client
licenses.
IMPORTANT Do not press the power button. Disconnect power by removing the power cable.

Power Up the Appliance
Reconnect the power cable.
Get Started
Access the appliance web services from a web browser at: http://shelbyaddress/
where shelbyaddress = the IP address you configured for the appliance in the configuration steps.
The appliance connects to the first 100 devices it finds on the target network and displays the System Feed.
Available Tabs
IMPORTANT Do not press the power button. The appliance powers up when you connect the power cable.
IMPORTANT To avoid problems with the appliance, click Shut Down Appliance on the Control Panel to turn off the appliance.
Tab Description
System Feed Shows the higher-level stories of the devices in your system.
Explorer Displays dashboards for the devices in your system. Select a device to display data that is specific to that device.
Action Deck Displays action cards for the conditions that the appliance reports.
Click Vote Up or swipe to the right from your touch device to vote it up if the device is relevant to you.
Click Vote Down or swipe to the left if the device is not relevant to you. After six consecutive swipes to the left, the
appliance no longer displays the information for that device. The appliance learns what is most important to you.

Ask questions through the Ask Shelby chat interface at the bottom, left corner of every screen. Every question that you
ask helps train the appliance to understand your needs, even when the appliance does not know the answer today.
Download the Security Certificate
1. From the Explorer tab of the appliance web services, click the Control Panel ( ) and the System tab.
2. Click Download SSL Certificate and follow the prompts to save the file on your computer.
Additional Settings
From the Explorer tab of the appliance web services, select the Control Panel ( ) to change configuration settings.
Yo u ca n :
Restart or shut down the appliance.
Reset the appliance to factory settings.
Select specific devices or ranges of devices for the appliance to monitor.
Define network access for ETH1 and ETH2 ports.
Initiate an update for the appliance.
IMPORTANT To avoid problems with the appliance, click the Shutdown Appliance button on the Control Panel to turn off the
appliance. Do not disconnect power.
