Installation Instructions
PACKAGE CONTENTS: 1 each Round mounting bracket; 2 each Rails and Screws.
This bracket is required for use in commercial applications in drop tile ceilings. The bracket will act as a protection device in the
event of breakdown of the ceiling tile, keeping the speaker from falling to the ground. The bracket is made specifically for RBH
brand in-ceiling 70 volt speakers.
The MBR-70 consists of a round bracket and two rails designed to be used with suspension ceilings. The rails will fit either 24-inch
or 600mm ceiling tiles. They are designed to rest on top of the tile without the Vend of the rail grabbing the grid struts. In
the event that the tile fails, the V” end of the rail will grab the strut, holding the speaker in place. The MBR-70 includes all parts
needed for proper installation.

STEP 1
Start by determining where each speaker will need to be
installed. Attach each rail to the ring with the screws where
necessary. This is shown in Figure 1.
STEP 2
Place “V” end of each rail on the grid strut as shown in
Figure 2.
STEP 3
Place tile into place in the ceiling so that the rails are now
resting on the top side of the tile. Using a utility knife or
other tool, cut a hole in the ceiling tile. The inside of the
MBR-70 ring can be used as a guide as it is the same diameter
that is needed to install the speaker. Figure 3 shows the
bracket installed properly and ready for the speaker.
STEP 4
Lift the speaker up and into the hole in the tile. Using a
screwdriver or powerdriver, twist the screws that attach to
the mounting legs, causing them to swing out and pinch both
the MBR-70 ring and the tile. Attach the seismic tie to the
secondary support of the speaker enclosure. For proper switch
settings, please refer to the owners manual supplied with the
speaker. Slide the grille into place.
