Cautions

Operating Instructions
1. Properly insert a 9V alkaline battery in the battery compartment.
2. Turn the meter on. The default graphic on the screen will be 0.00m.
3. Select your unit of measure (metric or imperial) by pressing the
“FT / M” button.
4. Select a measurement starting point (the front or back of the unit).
Press the “Fm / Bm” button to change start point. The icon
will
display your starting point. The default of the unit is Fm.
5. After selecting your unit of measure and starting point,
point the Meter perpendicularly to the surface of which
you wish to measure. Press the “READ” button and after 1 second the
value will be shown on the LCD screen. If you keep holding the “READ”
button and start to move, dynamic readings will show.

Additional Functions
Calculating Area
Press the “Area” button. Press the “READ” button to measure the value
of length. Aim in the next desired location and press the “READ” button
again to measure the width. The value of area will be displayed on the
LCD display screen.
Calculating Volume
Press the “Volume” button. Press the “READ” button to measure the value
of length. Aim in the next location and press the “READ” button again
to measure the width. Then aim in the nal measurement location and
press the “READ” button to measure Height. The value of volume will be
displayed on the LCD.
Calculating the Sum of Lengths
Take the rst reading of the length that you wish to be summed up by
pointing it at the surface you wish to measure and pressing the “READ”
button. Press the “Sum” button to begin the sum mode. Make another
measurement by pointing and pushing the “READ” button. Press the
“READ” button again and the sum will be displayed on the LCD. The SUM
function can only be use for length values operations. In metric the maxi-
mum sum is 100m, in imperial the maximum is 100ft.
Storage of Readings
This device has 10 memory slots. 5 memory slots are available for
different length and volume areas and 5 memory units are for sum data
storage. That data will be stored until the “ECS/CLEAR” button is pushed
or if the battery is replaced. Stored data stays stored in the unit’s memory
accordingly. When all of the unit’s memory is full, further storage
operation will not be implemented unless the “ECS/CLEAR” button is
pressed to delete one of unit’s stored data.

Change Reading when Measuring
If a reading needs to be conrmed for a changed start point, before
pressing “STORE” you may repress Read for measuring the linear
distance again.
Recall Function
When data is stored the LCD screen will display an “M” icon. In normal
status, press the Recall button to call for memorized lengths/areas/volumes.
The memorized data will display as follows:
• For linear measurements, the LCD will only display the length
• For area measurements, the LCD will display length, width and area
• For volume measurements, the LCD will display length, width, height,
and volume
Recall Sum Data
After turning the unit on, press the Recall button to display SUM1 to SUM5.
The Sum data will be showed in order. When the memory unit is empty or
the data has been deleted the LCD will display 0.00m.
ESC/CLEAR Function
• To clear your current measurement, after you press the Read button,
press the ESC/CLEAR button to clear the reading on LCD
• To clear memorized data, press and hold the ESC/CLEAR button for more
than 3 seconds and all the data in the units memory will be cleared
• When you are in other modes (Area, Volume, Sum), press the ESC/CLEAR
button and you will default back to Length measuring
Continuous Measurement Mode
Hold the READ button and work in the “dynamic reading” mode.

Battery Replacement
1. When the LCD display shows low battery “ ”, it indicates the
battery output is either empty or has dropped below the operating
voltage require. Replacement of the batteries is now needed.
2. Turn off the meter and remove the battery cover with a screwdriver
to remove the battery.
3. Replace with a new 9V battery and reinstall the cover.
Important Product Information
• For accurate results, choose a target surface that is large, at and hard.
• Place a sufciently sized piece of cardboard in front of targets that are
too small.
• The unit cannot measure through glass even though the laser beam
can pass through.
• Choose the units and don’t change the units when you have chosen
the measure mode.
• A strong wind could affect the units accuracy if the measuring distance
is greater than 12m.
• The LCD backlight is active for 7 seconds and the device will
automatically shut off after 100 seconds of inactivity.
• When the LCD screen indicates “low battery” power, replace the battery
to prevent a wrong measurement.
• When accuracy is critical it is highly recommended that unit only be
used in these environments: indoors or windless within 0°C to 30°C,
45% RH to 90%RH. Temperature and humidity in different
environments affects the accuracy of the measurements.
• This unit is using ultrasonic technology therefore the unit should be held
at a rectangular angle towards the surface of the subject being
measured. To assure the accuracy the rectangular angle should result in
less than +/- 5° deviations. For rough surface subjects, this unit can’t
reach the precise measures stated in this manual.

• When the device is out of range, not getting a return signal or no there is no
valid reading an “-ERROR-“ symbol will appear on the display with an alarm.
• It is important to pay attention to the weather conditions to ensure the
best accuracy of your measurements.
• When the target distance is more than 5 meters, the target must be
approximately 1.5 meters; when the target distance is more than 10
meters, the target must be approximately 2.5 meters.
