INSTRUCTIONS
AKC 55 Controller (Box Mount)
Each AKC 55 connected in a host network must have a
unique address starting with 00. Each address switch
has an arrow pointer with is also a screwdriver slot for
setting the address.
The AKC 55 should be mounted on a solid, vibration-free
surface using the pre-drilled holes shown at right. the
environ-mental requirements for the controller are:
Storage Temperature: -4 °F to 122 °F
Operating Temperature:
32 °F to 104 °F @ 95% RH non-condensing
32 °F to 122 °F @ 90% RH non-condensing
Up to 95 I/O nodes (OI8, RO8, SI8, AKC 16x Smart Case
Controllers, etc) can be connected to one AKC 55.
A maximum of 5 cable runs (1 shown) can be used to connect
any combination of nodes to the AKC 55.
The total length of all I/O cable runs (including stubs) is limited
to 5000 feet. Use point-to-point (“daisy-chain” connections
between boards.
The last I/O board on each cable run must be terminated.
Terminations are supplied with the AKC 55 controller as shown.
When necessary, individual I/O boards can be placed on
individual stubs up to a maximum of 25 feet long off a main
cable run.
