Instruction
Strongboard for Tiles and Laminates
with SpeedUp Heating System
Installation of load bearing substrate Strongboard
for tiles and laminates
1
Without adhesive, lay
Strongboard in staggered
pattern (see 3) onto the
evenly laid heat panels.
2
Cut Strongboard with
circular saw (universal blade).
Use off-cuts at beginning of
next row.
3
Continue laying the
Strongboard panels in a
staggered pattern. Always
use whole panels along the
edges.
4
Panels cut length-wise
should be laid in the pen-
ultimate rows and care should
be taken to keep the staggered
pattern.
5
All Strongboard panels
must fully cover and lie per-
fectly flat on the heat panels.
6
If there are voids under
the Strongboard use adhesive
to fix down it to heat panel.
Note!
In rooms < 12 m
2
it is recom-
mended to fully fix down the
panels.
7
Allow the adhesive (e.g.
Ecofix by Mapei) to evaporate
for 10 mins before continuing
to lay the panels.
8
Tape up all butt joints with
140 mm joining tape.
9
Tape up short butt ends as
well but do not allow the tape
to overlap.
10
Protect the finished floor
from dirt and from pedestrian
traffic to avoid damage with
e.g. insulation panels.
Note!
To seal joints in bathrooms
it is recommend to use the
synthetically coated cement-
like Mapelastic or Monolastic
by Mapei or similar.
