IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
WARNING: ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD – Turn off power at the main
power source by unscrewing fuse or switching circuit breaker
to the OFF position before installing, removing, or cleaning
this thermostat.
WARNING: FIRE AND ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARD – This device should be
installed by a qualified service technician with due regard
for safety as improper installation could result in a fire and
electric shock hazard.
WARNING: FIRE AND ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD – This is a 24V AC
low-voltage thermostat. Do not install on voltages higher than
30V AC.
• Do not switch system to cool if the temperature is below 50°F (10°C). This can
damage your cooling system and may cause personal injury.
• Do not short (jumper) across terminals on the gas valve or at the system control
to test installation. This will damage the thermostat and void the warranty.
• Do not connect ground to any terminal in this unit.
• All wiring must conform to local and national building and electrical codes
and ordinances.
• Use this thermostat only as described in the manual.

SMART3000thermostatbyUni-Line®isdesignedforusein
residences,hotelroomsandotherlocaonswhereheangandcoolingcontrol
is needed.
THERMOSTAT OPERATION
TheSMART3000isasimplethermostattooperate.Thediagrambelowshows
thebuonsyoucanusetochangethesengs.
DependingontheInstallerMenusengs,notallLCDsegmentsmaybeshown.

On/Off (Mode)
PresstheOn/ObuontoturnthethermostatONorOFFandifpermiedto
selectheatonlyorcoolonlymode.TheON/OFFonlyModeissetasdefault.
NOTE: IfthethermostatisOFF,thethermostatdisplaywillturnONbysimply
touching it.
Set Temperature
AdjustthetargettemperaturewiththeUporDownbuon.Therangeof
temperature adjustment may be limited if your installer implemented the Heat
andCoollimitsengs.
Fan
PresstheFanbuontocyclebetweenautofanandconnuousfanmode.
Or,ifyouhavethreespeedsavailable,presstheFanbuontocyclebetweenlow,
medium,highandautofanspeeds.PressandholdtheFanbuontoturnthefan
ONconnuously.
Ventilation Mode
Ifpermied,youcanruntheindoorfanonly(VenlaonMode)whenthe
SMART3000isOFFbypressingtheFanbuon.EachpressoftheFanbuonwill
cycle between all available fan speeds.

Make Up Room and Do Not Disturb Buttons
PressthesebuonstoacvaterelevantLCDsegmentsandbacklightcoloronthe
oponaloutsidedoorstaon.
Open Window Switch
Ifawindowisleopen,thisswitchwillautomacallydisabletheHVACsystem.
ThetextOFFwillashintheLCDtoindicatethattheremotewindow(ordoor
switch)isholdingtheSMART3000inOFFmode.Thewallcontrollerwillprohibit
allchanges.TheSMART3000willautomacallyrestartoncethewindowis
closed.
Door Switch
TheDoorswitchisusedbytheSMART3000fortwofuncons:
1. To detect that the door has been opened and then closed to let somebody
into or out of the room.
2. To detect if the door has been left open.
Entering or Exiting the Room. Once the door is opened and then closed,
theSMART3000willbeginanoccupancydeteconprocess.Asmovementis
detected,signalsaresenttothecontrollerremainON.Thiswillpermitguest
interaconwiththeSMART3000(adjustmodeandsetpointforexample),or
switch to Unoccupied mode.

Door Left Open. Whenthedoorisleopenforlongerthanthepre-setme
(0to300seconds),theSMART3000willautomacallyturnOFF.ThetextOFF
willashinthedisplaytoindicatethattheremotedoor(orwindowswitch)
isholdingtheSMART3000inOFFmode.TheSMART3000willautomacally
restart once the door is closed.
Outside Door Station
WhentheSMART3000iscoupledwiththeoponalSmartSensedoorstaon,the
guesthastheabilitytosettheroomasDoNotDisturb,sendaMakeUpRoom
callforhousekeepingorbealertedtovisingguestswithapleasantdoorbell
chime.Hotelstaareinformedabouttheroomstatusorguestsneedsbytext
informaondisplayedonthedoorstaonLCDorthedoorstaonbacklightcolors.

YourSMART3000thermostatisnowoperational.Itwillfunctionasasingle
setpoint, manual thermostat with a single speed fan.

FIVE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
Robertshaw warrants to the original contract installer, or to the original consumer
user, that each new Robertshaw thermostat will be free of defects in materials and
workmanshipundernormaluseandserviceforaperiodofve(5)yearsfromthedate
of purchase (the “Warranty Period”). If any Product fails within the applicable Warranty
Period,Robertshawshall,atitsopon,repairorreplacetheProductorcreditthepurchase
price,providedtheProductisreturnedtoRobertshawsfacilityordesignatedagentwith
transportaonchargesprepaid,andtheProduct,uponexaminaonbyRobertshaw,is
foundnottoconformtotheWarranty.CostofProductremoval,labor,orreinstallaon
of new Product are not covered under this Warranty and are not the responsibility of
Robertshaw.WarrantyonProducts,parts,componentsand/orsowaresold,butnot
manufactured by Robertshaw, shall be expressly limited to the warranty terms of the
manufacturerofsuchproducts,components,partsand/orsoware.
Thisabovewarrantydoesnotapplyto:(i)baeries;(ii)anylossesordamagesdueto
misuse, use of the Products in other than their normal and customer manner, accident,
abuse,water,re,neglect,normalwearandtear,negligence(otherthanRobertshaw's),
unauthorizedmodicaonoralteraon,usebeyondratedcapacity,unsuitablepower
sourcesorenvironmentalcondions,strippedthreads,improperinstallaon,repair,
handling,maintenanceorapplicaonoranyothercausenotthefaultofRobertshaw.
THEFOREGOINGWARRANTYISINLIEUOFANDEXCLUDESALLOTHERWARRANTIES,WHETHEREXPRESS
ORIMPLIED,INCLUDINGTHEIMPLIEDWARRANTIESOFMERCHANTABILITY,TITLEANDFITNESSFORA
PARTICULARPURPOSE.INNOEVENTSHALLROBERTSHAWBELIABLETOCONSUMER,CONTRACTOR,OR
ANYTHIRDPARTYFORANYSPECIAL,INDIRECT,INCIDENTAL,CONSEQUENTIALORPUNITIVEDAMAGES
INCLUDING,WITHOUTLIMITATION,LOSSOFUSE,LOSSOFPRODUCTION,LOSSOFGOODWILL,
LOSSOFCONTRACTS,LOSSOFANTICIPATEDSAVINGS,LOSTREVENUESORPROFITS,ORPROPERTY
DAMAGE,REGARDLESSOFWHETHERSUCHLOSSORDAMAGEISBASEDINCONTRACT,WARRANTY,

REPAIR,REPLACEMENTORCREDITOFTHEPURCHASEPRICESHALLCONSTITUTETHESOLEREMEDIES
WITHRESPECTTODEFECTSINTHEPRODUCTS.THECONSUMERASSUMESALLRISKSANDLIABILITY
FORINCIDENTALANDCONSEQUENTIALDAMAGERESULTINGFROMINSTALLATIONANDUSEOFTHE
THERMOSTAT.
Somestatesdoesnotallowtheexclusionorlimitaonofincidentalorconsequenal
damages,orallowlimitaonsonhowlonganimpliedwarrantylasts,sotheabove
limitaonsorexclusionsmaynotapplytoyou.ThisWarrantygivesyouspeciclegalrights,
and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
ReturnforWarrantyConsideraon
1. All Products to be considered for warranty must be returned to Company with shipping
charges prepaid.
2. ProductreturnedtoCompanymustbepackagedinsuchamannerthatwillpreventany
further damage to the Product during transit. The Warranty terms above shall not apply
to any items damaged in transit.
3. Anitemizedpackingslip,includingowner'snameandaddress,isrequiredforeach
shipmenttoCompanyofProduct(s)tobeconsideredforwarranty.Thepackingslipmust
containreasonforwarrantyreturn,dateofinstallaon,dateoffailure,andacontact
nameincasefurtherinformaonisrequired.
4. WithinNorthAmerica(USAandCanada),allcartonsmustbeclearlyidenedas
