Introduction
The Vello BG-C13 battery grip offers many benefits,
such as extended shooting time and more control
and comfort when shooting in a vertical (portrait)
orientation. It is compatible with the Canon T6i and T6s
DSLR cameras. The BG-C13 accepts up to two Canon
LP-E17 rechargeable batteries. The BG-C13 is equipped
with alternate shutter-release, aperture value/exposure
compensation, AF point selection/magnify, and AE lock/
FE lock/lndex/Reduce buttons, as well as a main dial, for
shooting in a vertical position. These features make the
battery grip ideal for portrait photography.
Please read through this entire manual
before using the BG-C13 battery grip.

Precautions
1.
The BG-C13 should be used only with compatible
devices as specified in this manual.
2.
Use only with batteries recommended in this manual.
The BG-C13 cannot be used with other battery holders.
3.
Cover the power terminals with the contact cap when
the BG-C13 is not in use. This prevents electrical shorts
caused by metal objects touching the power terminals.
4. If you notice smoke, an unusual smell or noise from the
battery pack, discontinue use immediately. Remove
the batteries and take the device to a Vello-authorized
reseller.
5.
The battery level may not display properly if batteries
are installed before mounting the grip.
6. Remove batteries from the grip when not in use.
7. Do not attempt to disassemble.
8.
Do not expose this product to water or extreme
humidity, and keep it in a dry cool place.
9. Keep out of reach of children.

OVERVIEW INTRODUCTION
Attaching the Grip
1.
Make sure the power is
turned off on the camera
and that the power switch
is set to Off on the battery
grip.
2.
Remove the battery
from the camera battery
compartment.
3.
Open the camera battery
chamber cover at a 45°
angle and gently pull the
cover to detach it.

To prevent loss, place the
camera’s battery chamber
cover into the BG-C13
battery chamber door
holder.
5. Remove the protective cap
and connect the battery
grip to the camera. Use
the grip’s mounting stud
to attach to the camera’s
tripod socket.

Rotate the wheel lock in
the direction shown by
the arrow until it is firmly
tightened.

Inserting Batteries
1.
Make sure the power
is turned off on the
camera and turn the
battery chamber lock
counterclockwise to open
the battery chamber door.
2.
Slide the battery holder out
of the battery grip.
3.
Insert up to two LP-E17
batteries (not included)
into either slot: match the
batteries’ power contacts
with the battery holder,
then press the battery
down and slide it in the
direction of the arrow.

When removing the grip, turn
the camera power off, remove
the batteries, and replace the
protective contact cap.
4.
Insert the battery holder
into the grip and turn the
latch clockwise to lock it.
5.
Switch the grip power On/
Off switch to On and then
turn on the camera’s power.
Check the battery level on
the camera’s display or
viewfinder.
