Vello BG-S3 This battery grip is compatible with the Nikon D800 and D810 series cameras, and it increases the camera's battery life by accommodating two additional lithium-ion batteries. Doubling the potential battery life gives you more wiggle room to keep shooting, especially when you don't have convenient access to power outlets to recharge or swap batteries.

The BG-S3's vertical grip design allows you to hold the camera comfortably in a vertical or portrait orientation, and the grip’s shutter release, dials, and buttons are all conveniently positioned for easy access.

The Vello BG-S6 is designed for the Sony a9 and a7 III

Series mirrorless cameras. It accepts two NP-FZ100

batteries, essentially doubling your camera’s runtime. The

grip provides a shutter release, front and rear dials, C1 and

C2 function buttons, On/Off power switch, AF-ON, AEL,

as well a joystick Multi-Selector, making it comfortable to

shoot in portrait orientation.

Please read through

this entire manual before

using the BG-S6 battery grip.

Precautions

The BG-S6 should be used only with compatible devices

specified in this manual.

Use only with the batteries and battery holders

recommended in this manual.

3. If you notice smoke, an unusual smell, or noise from the

battery pack, discontinue use immediately. Remove the

batteries, and contact Vello Customer Service.

The battery level may not display properly if batteries

are installed before mounting the grip.

5. Remove the batteries from the grip when not in use.

6. Do not attempt to disassemble.

Avoid exposing this product to water or extreme

humidity, and keep it in a dry, cool place.

8. Keep out of reach of children.

Attaching the Grip

Ensure that the camera

power is turned off, and the

Control Lock on the BG-S6

is in the Off position.

Open the camera’s battery

chamber, and remove the

battery. Then disconnect

the battery door from the

camera, using the latch.

Insert the camera’s battery

door into the grip’s battery

door holder, using the door

latch. Then lock the door in

place.

Insert the grip’s power contacts into the camera’s

battery chamber, and align the camera mounting

screw with the camera’s tripod socket.

5. Rotate the locking wheel counterclockwise until

it’s firmly tightened.

Inserting the Batteries

Lift and rotate the battery

tray’s lock counterclockwise,

and remove the battery tray

from the grip.

Align the contacts of the

first battery and slot 1.

Insert the battery toward

the contacts, and push

down to lock the battery

in place.

Align the contacts of the

second battery and slot 2.

Slide the battery in, and

press down until it clicks.

Insert and lock the battery

tray inside the battery grip.

Switch on your camera

and turn the grip’s On/Off

power switch to the On

position to power up your

camera and the grip.

Note: When removing the grip,

turn off the camera’s power and

the grip’s On/Off power switch,

then remove the batteries.

Removing the Batteries

Turn the camera and battery grip power

off. Lift and rotate the battery tray lock

counterclockwise, and remove the battery tray

from the grip.

Remove the batteries 1 and 2 by lifting the

batteries out of the tray.

Specifications

When two batteries are installed in the BG-S6, your camera will automatically select the battery with lower power

remaining. The battery level will appear on your camera’s LCD with the battery level percentage for only the battery

in use. When the battery is depleted, your camera will switch to the other battery in the grip.

Battery Status

Important: When storing your Sony camera with the grip attached, turn your camera off and turn the grip’s On/

Off power switch to the Off position.
