Thank you for purchasing this HiB product.
Please read through these instructions carefully and refer back to
them during installation to ensure that your product is fitted safely
and that it retains its high quality finish.

• Please read the instructions and warnings carefully before installing the
product and ensure this document is kept with the product for future
reference to ensure product longevity and in the interest of safety.
• If you give the product to another person, please give them this manual as
well.
• If any modification is made it will invalidate the warranty and may render the
product unsafe.
• When drilling use appropriate eye protection.
• Beware of hidden cables or pipes. Take care if drilling on tiled surfaces in case
the drill slips.
• It is recommended that this product is installed by a person who is able to
meet the level of competence required in order to comply with relevant
regulations. If in doubt consult a qualified tradesperson.
• This product needs to be installed in accordance with, and meet the
requirements of the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999 and
Scottish Byelaws 2004.
• Before installing this product it is essential that you thoroughly flush through
the pipework in order to remove any remaining swarf, solder, etc.
• Turn off the mains water supply before connecting to any existing pipe
work. Fitting isolating valves to the inlet feeds is recommended for ease of
maintenance.
• This product is designed for installation into a brick or masonry block wall,
if mounting onto other substrate ensure appropriate fixing and batons (if
required) are used and the load bearing of the wall is sufficient.
• Dispose of packaging in accordance to local authority regulations.
• At end of life dispose of item according to local authority regulations.

Installation
This product must be fitted by a qualified person according to any relevant
local byelaws. Failure to do so will void the product warranty.
For technical data, please refer to the Technical Data sheet,
available on hib.co.uk.
1. Determine the desired location of tap on the wall.
2. Plumb hot and cold water supplies into position as required. Pipe work must be
flushed through prior to final connection, as debris can cause damage to the tap
cartridge.
3. Mount body of tap onto wall or stud work as appropriate. Take care to ensure
that the tap body is mounted straight and level at this stage as per Fig. 1. Some
models have a built in spirit levels to help with this.
4. Connect the hot and cold water supplies into the tap body, using G½”
BSP connectors (not supplied). The use of pipe sealing cord or PTFE tape is
recommended when making the connection into the tap body.
5. Ensure that the system operates correctly at this point. Check that the mixer
valve operates and check carefully for any leaks.
6. Install the decorator’s caps provided with the tap, onto the handle and spout
locations as per Fig. 2. This will protect the tap from damage during wall finishing,
tiling etc.
7. Complete the surrounding wall finishing as desired.
8. Remove decorator’s caps. Fit shrouds or face plates into place and then fix the
handle and spout into position. Once installed, tighten the grub screws to secure
in place as per Fig. 3.

Aftercare
In the unlikely event that this product should fail please contact the retailer from
which the item was purchased.
To preserve the high quality finish of your HiB product, please ensure you regard
the following care and cleaning recommendations:
• Avoid leaving excessive standing and surface water on the product for
prolonged periods of time.
• Clean the product with water and a so cloth, a mild detergent may be used if
required. Ensure any excess moisture is removed aer use.
• Do not use abrasive sponges or cleaning agents.
• Avoid the use of cleaning agents containing solvents, mineral or organic
acids, limescale removers and other household cleaners containing
acetic acid.
