Getting Started
1.1 Inserting the broadband SIM
1. Put finger on the bottom finger grip, and then lift the
front cover of the modem to release and remove.
Notes: Do not forcibly remove the front cover to avoid
any damage.
2. Open the SMART Bro AutoRun file.
3. Follow steps 1 to 5 under Auto Install.
For Auto Install (Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7):
1. Welcome Wizard interface pops up, click <Next>.
2. Read and accept the End-User License
Agreement, click <Next>.
3. Select your desired destination location, and
click <Next>.
4. The system will show the installation progress.
5. When installation is completed, click <Finish>
to exit the wizard.
1.3 Connecting the Modem to the computer
1. Plug the USB connector of the modem directly into
the USB port of your computer. Ensure that it is tightly
inserted. The modem will automatically be recognized.
1.4 Installing the application
For disabled AutoRun:
1. In My Computer, open the SMART Bro file.
2. Insert the SIM card into the SIM card slot.
Insert the SIM card with the metal contact area facing
downwards into the slot, and then slide the SIM down.

Connecting to the Internet
2.1 Preparation before connection
After installation, the application runs automatically
and the main interface pops up when the modem is
connected. You can also find and run the application
in the <Start> menu.
2.2 Setting up your Internet connection
2. Click <Connect> to initialize connection.
3. Once you have connected to the Internet, it will
show “Status: Connected”, with the data amount
and time connected displayed.
Disconnecting
1. Diconnect from the network by clicking the
<Disconnect> button.
2. Click <OK> to close the software.
Indicators
Indicator Modem Status
Steady RED Error Status, or Modem not
ready yet, busy starting up,
or no service
Steady Green Attached to 3G/HSDPA or
EDGE/GPRS network
Blinking Green Connected to Internet
Notes
1. If SIM card is removed during application, unplug
the device and restart the application.
2. If you experience limited connection speed and
data transfer, check your signal indicator bar for the
local network status.
3. Do not forget to disconnect every time you wish to
end your session.
4. To check your balanece,click the on
the home screen of your Smart Bro application. You
may also log on to www.smart.com.ph/smartbro,
click on the Manage Your Account icon, and register
your SMART Bro account.
For more detailed information, go to <Help> in the
setting menu, call (02) 6727277 or*1888 from your
SMART cellphone.
1. Once you have download the application, simply
click on the icon.
