AUTOTECH 10.145.100K is an Intercooler Vent Plate designed for VW A4 Chassis 1.8T.

Notes:
Autotech's Vent Plate is designed to open up a straight pathway for air that ows through
the factory intercooler. In stock form, the fender liner is so close to the backside of the
intercooler, that optimum airow is reduced, forcing the air to nd its way out beneath the
liner. By freeing up the airow off the back of the intercooler, better heat exchange takes
place, increasing the intercooler's effectiveness at cooling the intake air. Our louvered plate
remains effective at preventing debris damage to the intercooler core, while allowing excel-
lent airow.
Procedure:
1) Place the front of the car on jackstands, block the rear wheels, and set the parking brake
to ensure the car is safe to work under. You'll want to remove the right front wheel to
allow easier access to the front fender liner.
2) Cut out the rectangular template provided on page 3.
3) Position the template on the liner about an inch up from the bottom and an inch and a
half out from the inner edge. Observe the webbing on the intercooler-side of the fender
liner. You may want to adjust the position of the template to nd the "sweet spot" relative
to the webs, so as to avoid interference with the mounting screws.

4) Trace the rectangle onto the liner to mark your cutting line using a grease pecil or Sharpie®
style marking pen.
5) If you prefer, you can remove the fender liner from the car to make cutting the hole easier.
Cut the hole in the liner using a utility knife. It is usually better to make several lighter
strokes to cut throught the thick plastic, rather than trying to cut all the way through in
one pass.
6) Once the hole is cut, place the vent plate into the hole from the intercooler side of the
liner. If any of the liner's webbing interferes, simply cut off the section of the webbing to
allow the plate to t ush.
7) With the Vent Plate in place as a template, use a pen or punch to mark the hole locations
for the mounting screws.
8) Drill the holes in the liner using a 9/64" drill bit.
9) Install the Vent plate and fasten to the liner with the included mounting screws. Re-install
the liner on the car if it was removed earlier.
