Subject
Boiler Heater in UC and in HT (North America models)
Model
Undercounter double skin (LS6AH / WT30H) and Hood Type high capacity
(LS14H / WT65H) for North America.
Problem
Risk of terminal sealing breaks whereas the thermo-sensor (internal overheat
protection) is fitted.
Reason
North America models’ boiler heaters have stud-bolt terminals for eyelet
connectors where the terminals are liable to be turned. The thermo-sensor
sealing (that protects heating elements from outside humidity) can be broken
in case of too high torque.
Action in
Field
The allowed torque is 1.2 Nm = 0.885 lbf feet (maximum).
Alternatively, block the fixed nut (welded on boiler heater terminals) and
tighten the lock-nut:
92° ± 0.5°
The risk is non-existent for boiler heaters with faston and boiler heaters with
stud-bolt but without internal thermo-sensor.
