2.1 Mechanical requirements
Mechanical requirements for the FLX-24 pixe l
Barco offers different carrying sy stems for the FLX-24 pixel s uch as the FLX-P50, FLX-P100, FLX-N100, etc. These standard FLX
carrying s ystem s allows a c reative, exible, fast and easy set up of the FLX -24 pixels. The mechanic al installation requirements
depend on the FLX c arrying system used . Consult th e installation manual, which comes with the F LX carrying s ystems, to know the
mechanical requirements of the FLX carrying system.
Next to the s tandard FLX carrying system s that Ba rco offers, you can design your own FLX c arrying solution. T he illustration below
shows the c utting dimensions for the FLX-24 pixel. For more information or help about FLX-24 pixel s upport gr ids, contact B arco.
Alignment of t he FLX-24 pixels
It is recom mended that all pixels of the same display are equally oriented to avoid color dev iations when looking at the display under
extreme viewing angels. There ar e tw o solutions to align the F LX-24 pixels easily.
1. T he rst solution is using a support p late with a (keyhole) cutout of the top side of the FLX-24 pixel. Note that the top s ide of
the FLX-24 pixe l has a lid which can be us ed to orient all pixels equally. The drawing below s hows the cutout dimensions (in

2. Installation requirements
2.2 Electrical requirements
Electrical requirements for the FLX-24 pixel
The power for the F LX-24 pixels is delivered by the F LX Power rectiers DPR-2700 installed in the FLX Power Chassis DP R-2700.
One FLX Power chassis DP R-2700, fully equipped with six rectiers each delivering 2700 w att, consumes maximum 16200 watt.
For that one FLX Power System DPR-2700 req uires a nominal three phase AC input of 230V (delta connec tion) or 400V (star
connection), 50-6 0Hz.
The power cord to connect the FLX Power chassis DPR-2700 with the power net is not delivered with the FLX Power System
DPR-2700. The customer must provide the correct type of power cord. The cross-sectional area of the conductors in the pow er
supply c ord shall not be less than 6 m m² or 8 AWG for 400V s tar connection (L1/L2/L3/N/PE) or 10 mm² or 6 AWG for 230V delta
connection (L1/L2/L3/PE). For more information see the installation m anual included in the box of the F LX Power System DPR-2700.
All AC connections must be m ade per the latest issue of the National Electrical Code and must also conform t o all local codes. The
AC supply must be installed by a qua lie d electrician in conformance to local codes . Hardware, wire sizes and cond uit types m ust
comply with local codes. To protect operating personnel, the National Electrical Manufac
turers Association (NEMA) recommends
that the cabinet be grounded. In no event shall the FLX P ower Sy stem DPR-2700 b e operated without an adequate cabinet gr ound
connection. An AC breaker must provide adequate isolation between the FLX P ower chassis DPR-2700 input and Commercial AC
Main.
The power consum ption of the FLX -NNI Controller and the DX-1 00/DX-700 Digitizer is negligible compared to the power consump-
tion of the FLX Power System DPR-2700. One FLX-NNI Controller consumes ma ximum 0,5 amps at 230VAC , 50Hz (100-240VAC;
1-0,5A; 50-60Hz). O ne D X-100/DX-700 Digitizer consumes maximum 0,5 amps at 230VAC, 50Hz. Standard power cords (CEE or
NEMA plug) are delivered w ith the FLX-NNI Controller and the DX-700 Digitizer.
The FL X system a llows a physical split up of the control center, where the D X-100/DX-700 Digitizer and FLX -NNI Controller units
are located, and the power center, whe re the FLX Power System DPR-2700 is located. T his way the length of the power cables can
be shorten to reduce the loss of voltage over the po wer cables. Futhermore, the heat diss ipation a nd the noise generation of the
rectiers can be isolated and managed in a suitable area.
