2. Drilloutthe2mostsuitableFIXINGHOLESBinsidetherearsection.
Usethisasatemplatetomarkthewall.
3. Beforedrillingthewallbesuretherearenoelectricalcables
orplumbingunderthesurface.
4. Usethescrews&plugsprovidedtofixtherearsectiontothewall
notingthecorrectorientation(seenextpageforPETALLEY).
5. Removetheinsulatingtabtoconnectthebatteries,
refitthelidandtightenthescrew. 

UndoSCREWAandremovethelidassembly.
Removetheinsulatingtabtoconnectthebatteries. 
Refitthelidandtightenthescrew.
Selectthebestlocationwherethewallsurfaceisclean,dryandeven.
Sticktheadhesivepadtotherearofthedetector.
Pressthedetectorfirmlyagainstthewallensuringitisstucksecurely.

Testing&RegisteringthePIRDetector
WhenthePIRlidisremovedthetamperswitchwilloperateandtransmitanalarmsignal.Thiswillalsocheckthebatterycondition
(andreportanalarmiflow)toassistServiceEngineers.

ThetamperswitchshouldbeactivatedwhenlearningthePIRontotheReachathomealarmorAdventxtwardencallsystem.

Maintenance
Noroutinemaintenanceisrequired;howeverawalktestshouldbeperformedonceayeartoverifyoperation.
PIR’sarenotassusceptibletodustandcontaminationassomedetectorsbutitisstillrecommendedtocleanthemperiodically.
PIR’scanbedustedorwipedcleanwithadampcloth,neverusedetergentsorpolish.

Unlikesomedetectors,PIR’sarenotsusceptibletocontamination
frompaintfumesthereforenospecialprecautionsneedtobetaken.
BatteryLife
ThePIRcontains2longlifeLithiumbatteries. Undernormaloperatingconditions
(40activations/day)thebatteriesshouldlastforupto2years.

Thebatteryconditionischeckedonceaday,ifthevoltagefallsandstaysbelowa
presetlevelfor7consecutivedaysalowbatteryalertisautomaticallytransmitted.
Anotherlowbatterycallwillnotbetransmittedfor7days,thebatteriesshould
bereplacedwithin2weeksofthefirstlowbatterywarning.
Replacementbatteries:2xAAsizeEnergizerLithiumalwaysreplaceinpairs.
