1.Installthenewbladestothespindleswithwashersand
bladeboltsthatwerepreviouslyremoved(Figure15).
2.Tightenthebladeboltto75-80ft-lb(101-108N-m).

Procedure
1.Tightenallnutsandboltsforthebafes.Referto
InstallingtheBafessections.
2.Rotatethebladesandensurethereisclearancebetween
thebladesandthebafes.Ifthereisinterference,
loosenthebafeandrepositionit.
3.ForGrandStandmowers,lowerthemachine,remove
theplasticfromthehydraulictank,andconnectthe
battery.
4.ForGrandStandmowers,placethebatteryontothe
machine.
5.Securethebatterywiththeholddownplate,j-bolts,
andlocknuts.
6.First,installthepositive(red)batterycabletopositive
(+)batteryterminalwithanut,washerandbolt.Slide
therubbercoveroverthepost.
7.Theninstallthenegativebatterycableandgroundwire
tothenegative(-)batteryterminalwithanut,washer
andbolt.Slidetherubbercoveroverthepost.12
Operation
SelectingtheProper
Height-of-Cut
Removeapproximatelyoneinchornomorethan1/3ofthe
grassbladewhencutting.Inexceptionallylushanddense
grassyoumayneedtoraisetheheight-of-cutsettingor
converttosidedischargeorbaggingoperations.
MowinginExtremeConditions
Airisrequiredtocutandrecutgrassclippingsinthemower
housing,sodonotsettheheight-of-cuttoolowortotally
surroundthehousingbyuncutgrass.Alwaystrytohaveone
sideofthemowerhousingfreefromuncutgrass,allowingair
tobedrawnintothehousing.Whenmakinganinitialcut
throughthecenterofanuncutarea,operatethemachine
slowerandbackupifthemowerstartstoclog.
MowingatProperIntervals
Undermostnormalconditionsyouwillneedtomowevery
4–5days.However,grassgrowsatdifferentratesatdifferent
times.Thus,inordertomaintainthesameheight-of-cut,
whichisagoodpractice,you'llneedtocutmorefrequentlyin
