Procedure
1.Tightenallnutsandboltsforthebafes(Figure4,
Figure5,Figure8,Figure9,andFigure11).
2.Rotatethebladesandensurethatthereisclearance
betweenthebladesandthebafes.Ifthereis
interference,loosenthebafeandrepositionit.
Operation
SelectingtheProperHeightof
Cut
Removeapproximately25mm(1inch)ornomorethan1/3
ofthegrassbladewhencutting.Inexceptionallylushand
densegrassyoumayneedtoraisetheheightofcutsettingor
converttosidedischargeorbagging.
MowinginExtremeConditions
Airisrequiredtocutandrecutgrassclippingsinthemower
housing,sodonotsettheheight-of-cuttooloworsurround
thehousingbyuncutgrass.Alwaystrytohave1sideofthe
mowerhousingfreefromuncutgrass,allowingairtobe
drawnintothehousing.Whenmakinganinitialcutthrough
thecenterofanuncutarea,operatethemachineslowerand
backupifthemowerstartstoclog.
MowingatProperIntervals
Undermostnormalconditionsyouwillneedtomowevery4
or5days.However,grassgrowsatdifferentratesatdifferent
times.Thus,inordertomaintainthesameheight-of-cut,
whichisagoodpractice,you'llneedtocutmorefrequentlyin
earlyspring;asthegrassgrowthrateslowsinmidsummer,
cutonlyevery8or10days.Ifyouareunabletomowforan
extendedperiodduetoweatherconditionsorotherreasons,
converttothesidedischargeorbaggingoptionormowrst
atahighheightofcut.Thenmowagain2or3dayslater
withalowerheight.
MowingwithSharpBlades
Asharpbladecutscleanlyandwithouttearingorshredding
thegrass.Adullbladetearsandshredsthegrass.Tearingand
shreddingcausesthegrasstoturnbrownattheedges,which
impairsgrowthandincreasessusceptibilitytodisease.
AfterOperating
Toensureoptimumperformance,cleantheundersideofthe
mowerhousingaftereachuse.Ifresiduebuildsupinthe
mowerhousing,cuttingperformancedecreases.
