This manual mainly addresses the operation and programming of Infinova V1492N-N series high-speed IP

PTZ cameras. Based on network technology, V1492N-N series integrated high-speed IP PTZ cameras could

easily realize network digital video transmission and network control function, and provide professional

remote video services. They provide high-reliable, cost-effective solutions to various applications.



Chapter I System Introduction

1.1 Product Description

This manual addresses the operation and programming procedures

of Infinova V1492N-N series high-speed IP PTZ cameras.

With 10/100M Base-T self-adaptive network functions, the

V1492N-N series can output H.264/M-JPEG format video and

support triple stream encoding and bi-directional audio. Strong

capability of network remote control not only allows the relative

software to search network video, but also sets the IP address,

subnet mask & gateway of the video server via Internet Explorer, as

well as video encoding, e.g., pre-define encoding parameters, data

transmission rate, image quality, etc.

A powder-coated, aluminum construction makes the V1492N-N

ideal for either indoor or outdoor applications. The system has an

absolute operating temperature range of -40°F ~ 140°F (-40°C ~

60°C). The V1492N-N series are available with an input voltage of

24VAC or with a selectable power source of 24VDC.

The V1492N-N series include a window wiper. The wiper is

completely integrated into the enclosure and does not interfere with

the viewing range of the system.

The high-speed IP PTZ cameras support 4CIF, 2CIF, CIF, QCIF

resolution image compression.

Infinova’s V1492N-N series high-speed IP PTZ cameras support

the entire TCP/IP Protocol Suite (RTP/RTSP, TCP, IP, HTTP, SNMP,

UDP, SMTP etc). The system is allowed to adjust the bit rate and

frame rate of V1492N-N series high-speed IP PTZ cameras network

layer, and optional manual/Auto set QP (I Frame /P Frame)

parameters are provided in order to adapt to the critical application

requirements of surveillance system. Event log, summary

information could be set on the real-time interface, and the

snapshots could also be saved.

The parameters such as control protocol, baud rate, PTZ speed etc.

could be adjusted through the interfaces on Infinova V1492N-N

series integrated high-speed IP PTZ cameras. Quick & accurate

remote PTZ control makes network surveillance easy. Transparent

RS-485 data ports are provided to communicate with the external

devices. They could be directly accessed to the network through

RJ45 self-adaptive 10M/100M network connector.

Adopting high-precise driving system, the high-speed IP PTZ

cameras could quickly orient and continuously scan, provide

high-quality, full-Notion, full-color, and real-time active images,

detect the moving objects, and set video encodings. The high-speed

IP PTZ camera could preset encoding parameters and data

transmission rate, etc.

1.5 Notice



1. Firstly perform network settings after login. Gateway IP address

should be set as the gateway connected to the V1492N-N IP PTZ

cameras.

2. The IP address and MAC address should not conflict with the IP

address and MAC address of other devices, or no image will be

available.

3. No need to restart the system after performing network settings.

4. If you do not remember the IP address of the IP PTZ camera,

then you can use the scanning software on the PC to detect the IP

address, and you can also restore the default settings (such as IP

address) via the “One Button Reset” function on the base PCB of

high-speed IP PTZ camera (the Reset button is S100).

Chapter II Installation

2.1 Dimensions

There are 4 ways for the mounting of high-speed PTZ camera:

desktop mount, wall mount, pole mount and corner mount.

1RWH The PTZ camera’s ID and baud rate can be set via either

software or DIP switch. With the two ways, there are totally 254

address IDs settable for PELCO-P/D and INFINOVA protocols.

For specific setup via DIP switch, please refer to Appendix III

before installation. Address ID = Value of DIP switch + 1 (OFF=0

ON=1).

If the 8 positions on DIP switch S1 are all placed to ON position, it

indicates users can set address ID and baud rate via software. Please

refer to Chapter VII for details.

2.2 Desktop Mount

The desktop mount is chiefly suitable for the places in which there

are various kinds of desk, rooftop, balcony, etc, and according to

the vertical rotation range of PTZ camera from -90eto 40efor the

sake of its mechanism structure, the PTZ camera has to be mounted

at the edge of desktop. Thus, something related to the intensity and

other factors of the desktop has to be taken into consideration. In

the process of mounting, there has to be a few holes to be drilled in

a proper distance from the edge of desktop, and then fix the PTZ

camera adapter there by using expansion bolts. Confirm whether it

is firm enough, then mount the PTZ camera and finish the whole

mounting. Users can select the suitable way how the cable is pulled

out according to their need. Below figures demonstrate the way

how the cable is dragged out.

2.3 Wall Mount

Wall mount is to fix the PTZ camera on the erect or slanting plane

by means of some specific auxiliary mounting components, and

before mounting, these wall mount brackets have to be fixed on

wall or other erect planes. After it is fastened steadily, just mount

the PTZ camera on the bracket to complete the mounting. Shown as

below:

2.4 Pole Mount

Pole side mount is to install the PTZ camera to the cylinder via

linkage components. It is necessary to fix a connection board to the

cylinder via a hoop before installing. Then, install the wall mount

brackets to the connection board. After it is fastened steadily, just

mount the PTZ camera on the wall bracket to complete the

mounting.

2.5 Corner Mount

Corner mount is to install the PTZ camera to the suitable position of

the corner via linkage component. It is necessary to fix the Corner

Mount Adapter to the corner before installing. Then, install the corner

mount brackets to the Corner Mount Adapter. After it is fastened

steadily, just mount the PTZ camera on the wall bracket to complete

the mounting. Shown as below:

Chapter III IE Browser Setting

zSupport IE browser version: Internet Explorer 6.0 or greater;

zBefore attempting to view the image, make sure the system have

Directx 9.0c or greater image viewer software.

zInstall Quicktime.



3.1 Software Installation

zConnection order: Firstly connect the network cables; then

connect the video (only used for servers)

zNote: Check if the connection is tight or not before power-on.

After turning on the power, the system will carry out self-checking

which takes about 30 seconds.

The installation procedures of V1492N-N Integrated High-speed IP

PTZ Camera Image software are listed as follows:

(1) Download OCX

First, user has to log in with the Infinova super ID and password

(For more information, please refer to Chapter 4.1 Login). After

successfully logging in, you will be informed that the browsing

OCX is needed, which is pictured as below:

(2) Install OCX

According to the installation information, click “OK” button, then

the system will automatically install OCX. Real-time video is

displayed on the screen as follows after installation.

If the installation above fails, move forward according to the

following steps to continue:

1RWH The steps mentioned above are not in sequence. Please try

step 1 and 2 first, and if it fails, you can proceed with step 3 or 4.

The preparation of IE image browsing comes to and end.

3.2 Set IE Browser

You can watch the images and relative interfaces that caught by

camera over IE browser or a kind of special software V2216, based

on the applicable network to browse and control the video image. If

the installation of OCX is done, the user also has to set the security

property of Internet browser.

(1) As shown in the following figure, kick the “Tool” in the menu

bar, and ten click the pop-up Internet option.

(2) Select “Security” in the pop-up Internet options, as shown in

the following figure:

(3) Click “Custom Level” to pop up the following interface in

(4) Enable or Prompt the option of “Download unsigned ActiveX

controls”.

(5) Select “low” in the “Reset custom settings”.

Chapter IV Basic Function Operation

This chapter mainly introduces the settings and operation of

V1492N-N Integrated High-speed IP PTZ Camera.

4.1 Login

Please open IE browser after it powers on for about 50 seconds and

enter http://192.168.1.100/ (the default IP address) in the IP address

for example.

Note: The language of webpage will be different based on operating system.

That is, the interface is in English to English operating system and in

Chinese to Chinese operating system. We introduce the English interface in

this manual. The login dialog box displays as below:

If this is the first time to run the software, you should enter the

default super username and password. The default ID is admin

(password: admin). Click ‘OK’ button to log on. If the username or

password is not correct, the system will return to the above dialog

box.

Click ‘Reset’ to clear the old username and password, and then

enter the new username and password.

(1) If login as the super user, the following interface will display:

After login successfully, you can click “MJPEG” button to enter

real-time video interface under M-JPEG format as shown in figure

4-4.

In the “settings” interface, Super user can perform the following

functions: browsing system information, user management

(add/delete user, change password), device address/protocol/ baud

rate setting, Network settings (including IPv4 network setting,

SMTP settings, FTP settings, SNMP Settings), alarm setting,

Optimize setting, time-zone and time synchronization settings,

system log view, Deinterlaced setting, SD card and Recording

Control, Security settings and Advanced setting (including Software

update, Factory settings and reboot).

Common user only can view system information, change his own

password, and view system log.

1RWH The following descriptions are used for the super

user.

4.2 System Information

The initial interface of System Settings displays related system

information. You can get to know most of system information from

this interface such as: basic information of system, network setting,

NTP setting, video parameter setting, alarm setting, H.264 video

4.3 Account Settings

After logging on as a super user, click the button.

When the button turns to be high light, the following account

information will display:

Note: support a maximum of 8 accounts. stands for super user,

while stands for common user.

(1) Click “ ”, enter the interface of “Add a User”.

(2) Enter the desired User Name and Password (Special

characters are not allowed to appear in User Name or

Password, and number of password characters can be from

8-20.)

(3) Click “OK” button. If the setting is successful, the new user

name will appear in the following account list. Take adding

“USER1” as the new user for example.



(4) If the user exists, the following interface will display:

Click “OK” button, the image will be back to Figure 4-9.

If the 9th user is to be added, the following box will pop up:

Click button behind the common user you want to delete in

the account list, then the following figure will display:

Click “OK” button, the selected user would be deleted and the

Input the old password, enter your desired new password for twice

For the sake of safety, please change the password as soon as

4.4 Network Settings

Click button in the navigation bar, the following

zAuthentication: Enable or disable authentication function. This

zPassword: Set sender’s password.

zNote: there is no limit for Sender’s name and password settings.

After setting completes, click “Set” button to take effect.

If user selects “mail” in “Alarm Settings” interface, system will

send mail according to SMTP settings.

function.

In the SNMP Settings interface, start the heartbeat server, set its IP

address and the heartbeat interval, and then heartbeat package will

be sent to the appointed server or the client at the specified interval

so that the server or client can easily know about the network status

of the camera.

4.5 Time Settings

Click button in the navigation bar to display the

following Time Zone Settings interface:

“Set” to save it.

There are 33 time zones for selection: GMT-12:00~GMT~GMT+13:00, and

the default setting is GMT Greenwich Mean Time.

For Daylight Saving Time enable region, please tick “Automatically adjust

clock for daylight saving changes”.

system is the same as that of local PC. Click “Set” to adjust.

If NTP server is selected, you can input NTP server address into IP bar.

Click “Set” to finish. If so, the system will adjust time with NTP server

4.6 Alarm settings

Click button in the navigation bar to display the

following Alarm Settings interface:

Each alarm input has 2 modes

(1) Grounded Circuit

(2) Open Circuit

Recommended: Grounded Circuit

Alarm out Contact: used to set sending way of alarm.

Local Contact: I/O out is triggered by I/O alarm in or motion

detection alarm. Default: Local Contact.

Net Contact: I/O out is controlled by the surveillance

management software.

Note: This function needs to be supported by digital video

surveillance management software like V2216. If Net Contact is

selected, user has to set Alarm Server IP the same as the IP address

of V2216-CMS server. After setting finished, user can remotely

control the relay via V2216 software. For detailed information,

please refer to V2216 manual.

Alarm Server IP: used to set the IP address of alarm server when

NET contact is selected. If alarm occurs, it will inform the alarm

server.

Users can set alarm handling ways for alarm input or motion

detection alarm, like sending Mail, FTP upload, audible alarm,

Relay output After setting completes, click “Set” button to take

effect.

4.7 PTZ Settings

Click button in the navigation bar to display the

PTZ Setting box:

Camera Address: set the distributed address of V1492N-N

Integrated High-speed IP PTZ Camera. The number of camera

address is determined by different control protocol.

Baud rate: set the communication baud rate of control and camera

modules, the default value is 2400 bps.

Protocol: select the corresponding protocol of camera. The built-in

service software in this IP PTZ camera supports Pelco-P, Pelco-D

and Infinova.

4.8 System Log

Click button on the navigation bar to enter the

system log interface shown as below:

It can display 30 logs on a page. User can turn over the page by

clicking the below arrows or skip to the designated page by clicking

“Goto”. Click “Delete logs”, a prompt will come out. Then, click

“Yes” to clear logs.

4.9 Deinterlaced Settings

Click button, and then comes out the deinterlaced

settings interface:

It’s recommended to enable the Deinterlaced setting for many

dynamic scenes and disable it for static scenes. Defaulted as: “ON”.

Note: Only the super user can set this option.

4.10 SD Card

Click the “SD Card” button to display the following interface:

You can view the total size and free space of SD card, and can also

format it.

To remove the SD card during working, please click “Safe pull out

SD card”.

4.11 Recording Control

Click the “Recording Control” button to display the following

interface:

Recording Storage Mode: Circle Mode or Stop Mode. Circle Mode

means when the SD card is full, the newly recorded files can

automatically overwrite the existing files; Stop Mode means when

the SD card is full, it stops recording automatically.

Manual Recording Control: Start or Stop recording.

Alarm Recording: Enable or disable automatic recording during

alarm.

Automatic Recording when Network anomaly: Enable or disable

automatic recording during network abnormity.

Note: It only supports recording of minor stream. If the resolution

of minor stream is set “OFF”, recording cannot be performed.

4.12 Security

V1492N-N Integrated High-speed IP PTZ Camera is compatible

with https and 802.1x protocols. In the Security interface, you can

make relevant settings for https and 802.1x protocols.

4.13 Advanced Settings

V1492N-N series provides a series of advanced functions, such as Software

Update, Factory Settings and Online Reboot.

Click button to enter the interface shown below:

Free software update is provided for V1492N-N series IP PTZ

cameras, and this update service can reduce system maintenance

budget. You can download the latest software from the Internet.

Follow the steps below to update software:

Click “Browse” button above, then select program update in the

pop-up dialog box. After that, click “Upload” button, the system

begins to update.

If update successfully, the following information will appear on the

current interface:

If the type of updating file is wrong, the following information will

At this time, re-check the updating file and camera system, or

otherwise choose other program to update.

Chapter V H.264 Video Settings

When login successfully, the interface will be”H.264” (as shown in

figure 4-2 or 4-3). It can switch to full-screen mode by double

clicking the video window, and exit full-screen mode by double

clicking again. A serial buttons on the left help you to set

concerning parameters such as video setting, motion detection,

Privacy masks, OSD, audio, stream type, player and so on.

The system supports dual encoding stream, and it can set video

parameters under Major stream and Minor stream separately. Below,

take the video settings under Major stream as an example.

Common user is just able to set the four items: video size, stream

type, audio and player.

5.1 Video Size

Click the “Video Size” button in the navigation bar to display the

following interface:

Enter the desired value in the Width and Height field, and click

“Set” to confirm.

A 704*576 picture indicates 704 pixels in width, and 576 pixels in

height. Other settings are alike in signification.



interface regarding motion detection sensitivity:

icon on the webpage will turn red . If it’s normal, the icon is

grey .
