HowdoesthePillDispenserAdvancework?
ThePillDispenserAdvancewillsoundanalarm,flasharedlightandthedisplaywillshowTAKEMEDwhenit’stimeforthe
usertotaketheirmedication.
Itwillmakethecorrectdosageavailableatthecorrecttimeeachday,atallothertimesthepillsaresecurelylockedinsidethe
dispenser.
Whenthealarmsoundstheshutterwillbeunlocked,thepillsareremovedfromthedispenserby
tiltingitthrough90oandpouringthemintothehand.Thetiltingactionwillsilencethealarm
thenrelocktheshutteragainafter2minutes.
Ifthedispenserisnottiltedthealarmwillcontinuetountiltheprogrammable“after”time
hasexpired(5minutesto5hours).
Whenhalfthe“after”timeexpiresanalarmcallwillbetransmitted.Whenthefull“after”time
hasexpiredanotheralarmwillbetransmittedandtheshutterwilllocktopreventthepossibility
of2dosesbeingtakenwithinashorttime(i.e.potentialdoubledosing).
Pills“ready”andpills“taken”timesarealsotransmittedandloggedintheReachPlusorAdventxt.
ThisdatacanbeanalysedusingTynetec’siCaresoftware.

ThePillDispenserisprovidedwithclearlyprinteddiscs.Thesediscsidentifythedayoftheweekandtheappropriatenumberof
dosesperday(between1and4).Ablankdiscisprovidedforthoseon5ormoredosesperday.
Placetheappropriatediscfortherequiredpilldosageontopofthetraytakingcareto
lineuptheholesandpushdownoverthe4locatingpins.
Usethediscasaguidewhenplacingthepills.
Certainmedicationshouldnotbeexposedtotheairandthereforeshouldnot
beplacedinautomaticdispensers;ifindoubtcheckwithaPharmacist.
Afterfilling,positionthetraysothatthecompartmentwiththefirstdosetobetakenby
theuseristotherightoftheopening.ThephotohereshowsMonEveisthenextdose
ResettingtheDosesLeftDisplay
EachtimemedicationisdispensedthenumberofDOSESLEFTwillreduceby1.
Whenthetrayisrefilleditisimportanttoresetthecounterbypressingbutton2untilTRAYZisdisplayed.

ThenumberofDOSESLEFTwillnowbethesameasthenumberenteredintheFILLEDquantitysetting.
