How to install the Pill Dispenser
From new you will need to open
the battery compartment and
remove the battery isolation strip
shown in the photo here.
The display will show “BOOT”
followed by the software version e.g. “SW-007” then the
battery charge level “B 100%” (full charge).
When the display shows “CLOCK” and flashes “00:00” the
unit is ready to program.
There are 2 programming menus; Menu A contains the
basic settings and Menu B contains more advanced
functions. See below;
Menu A Settings
Press button 1 to cycle through the following functions;
CLOCK DATE DOSES ALARMS
Press and hold button 1 for 3 seconds to exit the menu and
revert to normal operation.
Setting the Clock
Press button 1 once and CLOCK is displayed.
Press button 2/3 to set the time (00:00 to 23:59) Note:
press and hold for fast forward/reverse
Press button 1 to end and DATE will be displayed.
Setting the Date
The DATE display will change to YY after a few secs.
Press button 2/3 to set the YEAR (00 to 99)
Press button 1 and MM will be displayed
Press button 2/3 to set the MONTH (01 to 12)
Press button 1 and DD will be displayed
Press button 2/3 to set the DATE (01 to 31)
Press button 1 to end and DOSES will be displayed.
Setting the Number of Doses per Day
The DOSES display will change to display the number of
doses per day after a few seconds.
Press button 2/3 to set the doses per day (00 to 24)
Press button 1 to end and ALARMS will be displayed.
Setting the Alarm Times for each Dose
The ALARMS display will change to display the time for the
first dose after a few seconds.
Press button 2/3 to set the time for the first dose
Press button 1 to end then set alarm time 2
Repeat for each alarm time, the number of alarm times is
determined by the “number of doses per day” set above.
Menu B Settings
Press and hold button 3 until BEFORE is displayed then
press button 1 to cycle through; AFTER SOUND LIGHT
FILLED BATT SECURE HOURS DLS START
STOP RECORD
Press and hold button 1 for 3 seconds to exit the menu and
revert to normal operation.
Setting the Before Time
The BEFORE time allows medication to be taken up to 5
hours earlier than the next alarm time.
If this option is set the user may access their medication in
advance by turning the Pill Dispenser upside down then
back upright again twice in succession, the tray will rotate
one step and the next dose will become available.
Press and hold button 3 until BEFORE is displayed
Press button 2/3 to set the before time (00:00 = not
required, to 05:00 max)
Press button 1 to end and AFTER will be displayed.
Setting the After Time
The AFTER time sets how long the alarm sounds and the
pill shutter remains unlocked after the medication is due.
If half the AFTER time expires an alarm call will be
transmitted. If the full AFTER time expires another alarm
call will be transmitted and the pill shutter will lock shut.
After AFTER is displayed;
Press button 2/3 to set the after time (00:05 to 05:00)
Press button 1 to end and SOUND will be displayed.
Setting the Alarm Sound
The alarm SOUND will play to alert the user when it is time
to take their medication. It will sound every 5 seconds for
the first minute, then every 8 seconds up to 1 hour then
once a minute until the medication is dispensed or the
AFTER time is reached, maximum 5 hours.
After SOUND is displayed;
Press buttons 2/3 to select the preferred sound (01 to 04).
Select 00 for no sound.
Press button 1 to end and LIGHT will be displayed.
Setting the Light On/Off
The LIGHT will flash to alert the user when it is time to take
their medication. It will flash every 5 seconds for the first
minute, then every 8 seconds up to 1 hour then once every
16 seconds until the medication is dispensed or the AFTER
time is reached, maximum 5 hours.
After LIGHT is displayed;
Press button 2 for no light (display shows OFF)
Press button 3 for light (display shows ON)
Press button 1 to end and FILLED will be displayed.
