YourWorkPlacepagesmaylookdifferentthantheexamplesshowninthisdocument.IfyourSonicWallSMA

YoursystemadministratorcanmaketheNetworkExplorerpageavailabletoyou,givingyouaccesstoallthe
Windowsnetworkfoldersorfilesforwhichyouhavepermissions.TherearetwoversionsofNetworkExplorer:
theHTMLbasedfileexplorer,andtheJavabasedversion.
IntheHTMLbasedNetworkExplorer,
thenavigationpaneattheleftdisplaysalistofresourcesavailable
onyournetwork;thepaneontherightenablesyoutoworkwithfoldersandfiles.
TheJavabasedNetworkExplorerdisplaysthefilesystemonthelocalmachineintheleftpaneandthe
remotelocationin
therightpane.Therightpaneallowsyoutobrowsenetworkdomainsandcomputers,
andtheirassociatedfileshares.Usingthe twopanes,youcanmanipulatefilesandcopybetweenthe
remoteandlocalfilesystems.UserscanalsosetupbookmarksfromwithinNetworkExplorertoquickly
navigatethroughnetworks
fromtheportallevel.

BeforeyoucanaccessyourWorkPlaceresources,youridentitymustbeverified.Dependingonhowyour
administratorhasconfiguredWorkPlace,thismightmeanselectingaspecificlogingroup(forexample,
“Employees”or“Partners”),andthenprovidingcredentials.Youmaybepromptedforausernameand
password,whichyoucantypein
orenterbymeansofavirtualkeyboard,oryoumaybepromptedforsome
otherformofcredentials.
1IfyouarepresentedwithaPleaseloginprompt,selecttheappropriategr oupfromthelist.(This
informationisprovidedbyyoursystemadministrator.)Ifthelistdoesnotcontainthe
appropriatename,
selectOtherfromthelist,andthentypethegroupnameintheboxbelowtheLogintobox.

Youradministratorcanofferanalternativemethodforprovidingyourcredentialsusingavirtual
keyboard.Someadministratorsmayevenrequireitif,forexample,thereisconcernthatauserslogin
credentialsmightbestolen.Toenteryourcredentialswithouttypingthem,clickUsevirtualkeyboard
andpointtocharacters
onthekeyboarddisplay.
6IfCAPTCHAauthenticationisenabledforyourrealm,aCAPTCHAverificationdisplayandpromptappear.
Typethe6charactercasesensitivealphanumericCAPTCHAvalue.ToviewadifferentCAPTCHA,clickthe
Newbutton.
7WindowsusersarepromptedtoinstalltheSecureEndpointManager(SEM),whichtakescare
of
installingagentsandclientsthroughthebrowser.Onceitisinstalled,youautomaticallyreceiveclient
updates.ClickContinue,thenclickRunandacceptthesoftwareifanysecuritywarningsappear.
TheURLyouusetologintoWorkPlaceisprovidedbyyoursystemadministrator.
Dependingonhowyour
administratorhasconfiguredWorkPlace,allotheropenbrowser
windowsmayautomaticallycloseatWorkPlacestartup,leavingonlytheWorkPlacebrowser
windowopen.
YouradministratorcanconfiguretheSEMtostartautomaticallywhentheoperatingsystemstarts
(Windowsonly).
Insomecases,youmaybepromptedtoacceptasecuritywarning
beforeWorkPlacecanstart.For

WorkPlacesiteasamodernwebbrowserthatsupportsHTML5.Webonlyaccess
