damaged in transit and being returned to QMS, Inc.
» Note:
It’s very important that you repack the print system in its original shipping carton
before using the instructions in this document. This is necessary so QMS can deter-
mine the cause of the shipping carton failure and remedy this problem in future ship-
ments. (Refer to chapter 9, “Repacking the Printer,” in the
QMS magicolor 2 Print
System Operation
manual for instructions on repacking the printer in its original shipping
carton.)
Procedure
Once you’ve repacked the printer in its original shipping
carton, use these instructions to pack it in its special
overpack carton.
1 Assemble the overpack carton, closing and
taping the bottom flaps.
2 Set the carton on a flat surface.
3 Place at least 4" of polystyrene packing
material (“peanuts”) on the bottom of the
carton.
If you don’t have any polystyrene packing
material, you can purchase some from a local mailing or shipping company.
4 Set the printer, in its original shipping carton, on the polystyrene packing
material in the center of the overpack carton.
5 Fill the rest of the overpack carton with packing material, surrounding the
original shipping carton on all sides and the top.
6 Close and tape the top flaps of the overpack carton.
7 Attach the shipping symbol labels to the top-left corner of all four sides of the
overpack carton.
8 Complete and attach the shipping label to one side of the overpack carton.
9 Send the carton back to QMS, Inc., One Magnum Pass, Mobile, AL 36618.
